The gear is stripped on our AS1018CD shredder. We want to buy a replacement one to install ourselves. Please let us know where we can order it. We did not get any satisfaction with FixYa that you had previously recommended to us. Thank you for your help.

I was having the same problem with my shredder. I called customer service; I was informed it was the gears on the inside of my shredder. My shredder is no longer under warranty. However, she is mailing me out the part I need for a small fee. Their customer service number is 1-800-327-8508 in the USA and international only 1-310-793-5650. I do hope this help you!

Thank you for the info. We called Aurora Customer Service & received 2 different gears within 4 days for $15 & they were installed by us & our shredder is working fine. We are only going to put 2 sheets in at a time & to make sure that if any pieces are becoming jammed to remove them before putting in anymore paper. Hopefully this will keep out shredder working for a long time.

My shredder only cuts the bottom tip of the sheet and makes a high pitched sound. The company website says in its troubleshooting section that the gears may be stripped or worn out. Does anyone know how...

Personally I would upgrade and would buy cross cut for better results and to prevent from this happening to the new unit regularly lubricate the feed opening. To replace gears isn't difficult. The tricky part is finding the right replacement. Best of luck

Nylon drive gear worn on one side

I have been told by the manufactutere that they do not make any replacement parts for their shredders. If it is less than a year old they will replace it.

Machine will not accept papers

The problem is the acrylic gear that runs directly off the motor. The threads on it are small, so it easily gets stripped. The engine can grab it better in reverse, since that side of the gears isn't rounded off. That gear needs to be replaced. I'm looking for a replacement short of exchanging it for a new one at target.
