Hi ihave a black ps2 slimline and the only game i can play is dragonballz budokai 2 i have dbz budokai 1 but it dosnt work and i have god of war 1 and 2 and they both have the same problem. when i put in a game it says playstation and it dissapears right away and then it show a memory card and a ps2 disk and when i select the disk it just comes back to it but now i put in budokai 1 and its does the same thing but then if i select the disk a couple times it just says playstation and the screen turns black.
That probably means that the disk is bad because that happens to me to alot with guitar hero or that u will need to put something on top of the ps2 were u put the disk in so that will keep it straite if that doesnt work then its the laser or the hard drive

if your disc is that scratched then you need to take it somewhere and have it professionally resurfaced. If you have a video store or a Radio Shack they can remove your scratches for a few bucks.
If your running custom firmware, change your driver from M33 to one of the others except normal. ISOFS may not work either. Also if your running custom firmware check your cold boot's configuration, it has a region faker built in there. If you haven't cracked the PSP you might need an official firmware update which I DO NOT recommend, instead look at getting your PSP custom firmwared.
You need to buy those games which says PAL on it...Usually they have those PAL indications on the top right corner of the CASE of the DVD...of course you won't be able to play those NTSC games...it's just a compatibility issue, i think...cause your PS2 is a PAL model...
mines exactly the same...other games wont work but some of them works...:(..
