My Whirlpool Washing Machine will fill with water, but won't aggitate. It will not spin either. However, the water does drain out. I have taken off the top part (aggitator) and the gears are not stripped. It does humm, it just does not move. What could be the problem?

Sounds like a cycle switch problem. The switch is not turning and making contact with the next cycle. It needs to be changed!

Check the motor brushes and belt.

The inlet solenoid is probably bad. And it won't agitate unless it fills and stops filling automatically.

sounds like a faulty timer or loose cable or circuit board ,only way to tell is have it checked out by engineer

if it fills with water then stops check you lid or door switch. will the unit drain or spin if so the the timer may be bad

timer contacts are burnt replace the timer
