Controller doesnt connect to xbox 360 - Video Game Consoles & Games

Yes, this can be tricky sometimes.

Be close to your console when synching your controllers. As always make sure the controller is on.
You will need to press both the synch button on the console and on the controller approximately the same time. If you have done this correctly. The controllers should have synched to the console in a few seconds.

Also just in case the light is flashing the and the controller is already synched, that means the battery is low and you need to change it out for new batteries.

1. Turn on your console.

On the Xbox 360 S console, each connected controller is assigned to one of four positions. Each position corresponds to a lighted section around the console power button and the controller Guide button. If the controller does not turn on, check the batteries. Insert fresh AA batteries, making sure they are correctly positioned in the battery case.

To connect additional controllers, follow these same steps again. You can connect up to four controllers to the console. • To disconnect a wireless controller, press and hold the Guide button for three seconds, and then choose to turn the controller off.
• When you turn off the console, the controller will reconnect the next time you turn on the console.
• The controller can be connected to only one console at a time. You can connect the controller to a different console, but the connection to the previously connected console will be lost.

There is a sync button next to the Play and Charge port on the controller, all you have to do is press both the sync button on the Xbox and the controller and it should connect. On the nonslim Xbox 360's the sync button is right next to the infared sensor and the memory card slots. On the slim Xbox 360 the sync button will be right next to the usb ports on the front of the Xbox 360 console. When you successfully start the sync the led's for the controller's and console's lights will spin and be ready for you to press the sync button on the other device.
(PS, you have to have both the console and the controller on for this to work; PPS, By controller on I mean having it searching)

On the front of the controller there is a small circle button, there is also one on the xbox console. Make sure both the controller and console are on, and press both the circle buttons at the same time and it should connect.

have you tried adjusting the terminals for a better connection for the batteries

it could be flat?, charge it or get new batteries and try, if that doesnt work you have to hold down the little button at the back of the controller and press the button next to memory unit b on the console

make sure you press the find button on the 360 and the one on the controller.
on the 360 it is a small circle bellow the disc tray and to the right of the two memory slots.
on the controller it is on the top its small and circlular with three semicircles near it.
if it still doesnt work then try to synce up with another persons console. if the controller still doesnt then you need a new one. if it does then use their controller to sync up with your console. if it still will not sync up with YOUR console.

the problem may be that they arnt syncing correctly, i had this problem and i was a ble to fix it, first you have to turn the console on, dont turn the controller on, hold the xbox's sync button for about 30 seconds, now turn off the console, remove all wires from the xbox, and from the mains power, after about 5 minutes plug it back in first click the xbox sync button then the one on the controller, this should work, if it doesnt call xbox customer support on 0800 587 1103 (UK) or 425 635-7180 (US)

Try replacing the batteries. I think you would have tried that but go ahead and try again. If you are new with 360s try to sinc the controller with the 360. Hope that all works.

dont try tearing your controller apart to try to get it to work. If it doesnt work take it back to the store you got it from and try to get your money back.

If all of that doesnt work............. buy a new controller.

you have to press the connection buttons, one on the controller and one on the xbox 360, the one on the controller is located on top by the triggers next to the cartridge insert port right by the left button, it has 3 wavy lines next to it, when you press it, the controller will light up and go in circles. After that quickly press the button on the xbox 360 located under memory unit A, to the left of the disc eject, then the xbox 360 lights will go in a circle then automatically connect. If it doesnt work at first, try it again, but quicker.
