Hobart mixer I have to write a class paper on how to use, care for and clean a hobart mixer, due on Thursday, March 13, 2008. it's been a long time since I've use one. I'm in a classroom teaching and need a brush up/crash course to get me going. My email is [email protected]

The machine can be internally rewired for 220 3 phase. Call your local Hobart office and have them come out and take care of it.

Drive it out with a punch and hammer. It's best to take the planetary off the machine so you can support the shaft. If not it puts a lot of unnecessary stress on the bearings and other parts.

Before doing anything else, make sure the hole in the whisk is perfectly clean by taking a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol and removing any remaining residue. It does not take very much residue to make fitting difficult.

If that does not work, the hole can carefully be enlarged using a round file or sandpaper wrapped around a pencil. Do this a little bit at a time and test fitting. You will want to do the minimum necessary to get the whisk to fit.

has the armature worn down so the insulation is higher than the copper plate which the brushes run on,if so trim down to below plates

on a a200 there is no oil. this mixer requiers grease. if mixer is leaking oil it is because the grease is broken down .you have to pull tpo cover off mixer remove trans. parts clean out old grease clean all trans. parts reassemble put top cover back on .then make sure mixer runs in all 3-speeds before putting 1.5 cans of -47grease back in grease can be bought @any hobart office

What kind of manual do you need. The service manuals are only given to Hobart technicians while they are attending training classes for that paticular piece of equip. I have a parts manual w/ exploded views if needed. A operators manual/guide can be downloaded from Hobarts website. You will need Model, Serial & ML # or spec #.

7.8 sounds a little high. I'd inspect the GREASE in the unit. Just take off the top cover and then remove the dust cap. The grease in a D-300 is a really thin grease. It lays in the gear case. If things look dry, I'd consider tearing it down, cleaning it up, and repacking it. Get the grease from Hobart. The wrong grease will stress the motor futher.
