Shutting off Filter Cleaning Message

I vacuumed all the filters on my NEC VT676 projector (well all the projector openings,) and the clean filter message hasn't gone away. I went into the menu screen but there was no way to reset the filter message that I could find. 304 hours on the filter, but no reset button or menu item. Is there anything I can do or do we just have to have the clean filter message disply for the first couple minutes from now on?

You need to turn OFF the message function under the expert tab on the "on screen menu"

In the state of Power ON, press each key in the order of: HELP, UP, LEFT, HELP
Press the Menu Key to display the menu and confirm that Expert is displayed below the menu.
Once you go into Expert mode, go to the Expert2 tab in the onsreen menu and set the message to OFF.
Hope that helps.

What does a solid red status light on a NEC VT676

This could be a number of things. When I encountered this problem it was simply a burned out lamp. If you have not checked that make sure you do that first. Also there is a safety feature on the projectors that will not let you turn the projector on until the lamp cover is back in place. You may also want to ensure that the filter door is securely in place. After you have done this try to power up the projector (it will take a few seconds for the lamp to warm up.) If the projector starts up, go to the menu and clear the lamp hours. These projectors have lamp life's that will expire after a certain amount of time, irregardless of the functionality of the bulb. Hope this helps you out. :)

Our Infocus sp5000 is shutting down because it is getting too hot. We had just cleaned the filter.

you also need to clean out the machine with canned air. also check to see that all of the fans are running. if they are not all running, they need to be replaced. also, the temp sensor near the lamp housing may also need replacing.

My projector nec mt 1075 asks me to clean filter. How do i do it?

All you need to do is use a vacuum hose to vacuum the dust that collects on the filter. The filter cover is on the side of the projector with horizontal slits. You can vacuum through the slits, or remove the cover and carefully vacuum the filter itself. Then go into the menu and reset the filter timer. Find this reset button in the "setup" menu item. Then your clean filter reminder won't show until another 100 hours of usage.

Vt575 pROJECTOR

My VT440 says this when it gets to it's pre-defined service life. (a certain amount of hours)

As long as you pop the filters out regularly and clean them (I use a vacuum cleaner) you shouldn't need to replace them.

After that, go into the projector options (with the remote control) and reset the factory defaults... otherwise it has no idea that you have actually changed the darn thing and keeps complaining no matter what! =-]
