They don't answer their phone and seems to be disconnected and their website is down... I have a maddog media, external triple drive burner and the manual says it is lightscribe compatible however, the lightscribe logo is not on the drive and I am wondering if my version is compatible but there is no model or product number to identify the maddog unit located on the unit itself.
No the drive is not lightscribe compatible. You are correct to say it is a samsung drive.
If you want to find out for sure download and run the Nero Info tool program. This will tell you everything you need to know about what your drive can do. It WILL tell you if the drive is Lightscribe.

thanks pennypinker (I got that I should rely on a different company). However, since I already own the product, I wonder:
1. if mad dog is in fact out of business;
2. if my mad dog multimedia triple format dvd-rw external burner (threw the box away and the setup guide seems generic and there is no product id or number on the unit itself) IS IN FACT compatible with the lightscribe technology eventhough the lightscribe logo is not on the front of the drive as indicated on lightscribe's website.
But then again, how would you know when I can not even identify the model number of the mad dog burner sitting in front of my face.
Mixed messages all over the place (wish I would have kept the box).

I think they have age restrictions on this site :) I did google it and that is how I ended up here. Pretty disappointing experience all around.
