If you have formatted your Xbox 360 Hdd on your PC then you may have bricked your Hdd as if you write over the 4KB SS (Security Sector) you can get the drive to function as a Xbox 360 drive again.

Sir i think the way how you added a hard drive on your xbox 360 is not correctly... try this instruction on how to add a hard drive on your xbox360...

The Xbox comes in two versions, one with a hard drive and one without. Enhance game play and speed by adding a hard drive to cache the game data during play. Adding a hard drive or swapping out the original for a larger drive is easy and gives you as much storage as you could ever want.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions

    • 1 Select a hard drive with enough space to hold all of the games and media you wish to carry with you. Look for drives with 7200-RPM specifications for faster speed when loading and caching games.
    • 2 Format the hard drive to FAT64 using the Windows format utility. Drives larger than 32 gigs will require third party formatting software although Windows 98 is capable of formatting up to 127 gig drives.
    • 3 Turn off the power and remove all cables, including the audio, video and controller cables. Lay the Xbox on its side with the front facing you. Look at the left side and pull the hard drive cover away from the console gently.
    • 4 Place the hard drive over the Xbox hard drive bay with the tapered end towards the front of the console and the connector end toward the bottom. Connect the cable carefully and verify no pins have bent.
    • 5 Align the hard drive slot with the back of the drive and set it into place until you hear a click. Press the cover on carefully and connect all of the cables. Turn the power on and verify the Xbox powers up properly.

I cleared up my HD-CE500U2 earlier and deleted everything I didn't need and since then, I have restarted my computer and the light on the drive is on, but it isn't being recognised by my compu

there is only one way put another harddisk on your system and install the os which you have in old one after installing it and remember do not open any disk untill you didnot put any antivirus and update.

after that shut down your system and put that old hard disk with new one and before access that hard disk scan it properly .

Cant get my sumsung S2 external hard drive to work..my computer does not recognise it

If you are trying to use it on a computer with Windows XP or later installed it and it isn't automatically installing the drivers and finding the drive for you then there are typically only 2 possibilities of what's wrong.

1. Your external drive is probably Dead.

2. The USB port you are using is dead. Try plugging it in to a different USB port.

Before you write the drive off as DEAD, make sure you try plugging it in to a different computer and see if it works on the that computer.

My laptop doesn't recognise external hard drive

Most Windows versions:
Go to the diskmanagement (run compmgmt.msc) option Disk management.
Locate the drive and add a driveletter.
If the drive is not shown in the list, you need to check your USB drivers or connectors.

The above thread contains a successful use of Creative with Windows 7, keep reading down the page. Other suggestions have been to try Vista drivers rather than XP. And there was the inevitable suggestion to use Windows XP mode on Windows 7 (but not all versions of W7 have XP mode.)

My xbox 360 not able to recognize my hard drive.

Well here are few solutions:
1. You might have a modded(Flashed) console, which microsofts new fix destroys your profile/HDD/Console, so everything is gone to waste.
2. Replace your HDD, there might be a problem with it
3. Just buy a small Memory instead of a whole HDD to replace.
4. Buy a new 360.
