You could try the free GO Launcher HD for Android at the Google Play store, (just Google "Asus tablet launcher"), but I find that if I restart the tablet when it says "launcher has stopped" or even just switch to another screen it carries on anyway, so it's hardly worthwhile installing another launcher for an occasional annoyance (so far anyway, fingers crossed).

vista may not support that mouse.

First question is do you have the vista disk ? If so , here are the steps to repair. Insert disk ....instead of selecting install vista , after the language selection box , select repair a menu will then be shown with the options you can choose from , choose start-up repair , this will repair missing files or disk errors. once selected no more input is needed from you.
