Please use the following steps:
1. Remove the router and connect it directly from the pc to the modem.
2. Power cycle: turn the modem off and then the computer for 30 seconds, then turn them both back on, modem first.
3. Check you internet connection to see if it working.
4. If it working, connect the router back up. If it not working contact your ISP for dsl support.
5. Once the router is connected, release/renew the ip address. Go to the dos command type ipconfig/release press enter. Then type ipconfig/renew. Check your ip address, you shouldn't get an ip address starting with 169. If you do, this mean you have a problem with the router getting an ip address.
6. Check you internet connection after the release/renew
i'm not having internet connection problem, it the router, its having problems, power LED is not ON, DSL is not ON, but internet LED is ON

You mention that the dsl is not on. This is a possible indication of the internet connectivity issue. I was basis providing instruction to release and renew the ip address and power cycle.. Once this step is not working then I would suggest trouble shooting more pc network setting and router setting that would cause the issue
