Hot electrical smell inverter shut down,the transformers have been getting hot when generator is running

Just as a guess, this is not an inverter microwave, correct?

The offending part is more than likely the big transformer on the unit, plus the fuse.

If it is the inverter type MW oven the you should see a hot looking part on the circuit board that is connected to the magnetron.

In any event, it is time for a new microwave oven.

You may have a cylinder head gasket problem either that or if this is a two stroke engine crank case pressure is critical, once hot there may be a pressure leak not enough to stop it from running once started but enough to stop you starting when warm, alternately a fuel evaporation problem not getting to pot before evaporating due to heat or blocked fuel jet when warm, if this unit has a choke is it disengaging a warm choked engine rarely starts and floods out smell of petrol will be high.
check that plug is not breaking down under pressure try another one check plug gap when warm it varies. hope this helps

this sounds like a capasitor/resistor that is getting hot under load once it is switched off and cools down it works until it gets hot again similar to that of a cars ignition coil which will get hot and cut the vehicle out but once it cools it will start again.

I would call or e-mail the manufacturer of the inverter. The dealer or dealers may know the issue but likely the manufacturer will be more help.
Some devices like an inverter will have a smell in the beginning, power supplies are like that. You said that the inverter didn't get hot but smell indicates something is hot.

DC seems to run little hot when an inverter is too large or is sending too much power, it\'s like an accidental overclock. As long as it\'s not hot to the touch or grinding, you should be fine.

The transformer gets hot and stops making spark... then fire goes out....transformer cools down and it works till transformer gets hot...

If you have a carpet under the treadmill it gets warm and it switchs off!

Easy answer is you cant on these units. These tankless units store no hot water and need a 240V power supply to operate.

However!
In some areas in far north Queensland I came up with a back up power unit (I used to work for Rinnai who make similar units). These were for remote units that used battery lighting and just wanted a bit of hot water for remote workers.

Basically you need a spare car batttery and an electrical inverter or a back up petrol generator. These hot water units only use a very small amount of electrical power even when that are operating. I had a guy run the hot water for nearly two weeks on a car battery and inverter after cycone Larry hit Innisfail in North Queensland.

Depends how often you get power losses as to how much money you want to spend to cover yourself (99.9999% don't bother with no real hassles).

This sounds like overheating. These small generators don't have overheating protection, but if a low oil pressure or low oil level is present it may be the reason for stopping.

Check the oil level in the starting conditions and again when it stops. It may become under the "stop" level and after some time the precipitated oil has reached the "start" level. The same may be with oil viscosity and oil pressure.

Try to add some oil or change the oil with bigger viscosity.

The unit should have a pop out fuse or set of fuses.
If you are drawing too much currant from the unit, it will shut down. If you plug in a simple 100Watt light and test the unit and see if it stops generating currant.
Max is only 5500.
You may also have shutoff thermo sensiors, if the caseing of the generator runs too hot or low on oil, it will shut unit down.

Keep in mind, if you have a shut off valve, turn the shut off valve, closing the fuel supply while running.
This will remove all gas from the bowl and not spoil after setting for long periods of time.
Same with oil, it will do damage to the engine if it just sets for long periods.
