Ac not working like it used to

I have had this model for 6 years, using it for 5 summer's in MN. So not that much use in my opinion. The unit is on and there is cold air coming out, but it is not blowing very far. It sounds like the unit is on but not fully "engaging". I noticed it not cooling my apt about a month ago. Checked the filter and noticed that the coils were frozen. I turned off unit and vacuumed the filter (which I do every time the check filter light comes on) and took the unit out of the window and straightened all of the coils (w/ my finger, gently). Some had been damaged last year when I put the unit away by myself. The coils have not frozen up again, but it has not sounded like it is fully working. Help! I'm so freakin hot! I will go buy a new one, but I think the stupid thing should work for longer than it has. Thanks! Sincerely, Susan

Storing the Unit is important -it should be up-right NOT on it side, this will cause the iol to clog the lines, NOT COOLING properly could be it need a good cleaning ( with a cleaning agent and a hose ) . to do this you have to remove the case or from the sleeve, BE CAREFUL NOT TO WATER "ELECTRICAL PARTS, clean drain line ( condensation "water" will cool off the ouside coil ( candenser) the inside coil can frost up if dirty or filter is clogged.
take the Unit out and clean well. you can purchase a spray that will remove all the grease and dirt - be careful not to bend tubing. use a light spray and let it dry in the sun. When putin Unit back in the window or wall WATER MAYBE SPRAYED OUT -DON'T STAND IN FRONT OF THE UNIT - IF you can't do this, call a serice company - this job can be done in a back yard.

My Panasonic DMR-ES30V only 5 years old and according to Comet needs a new power supply unit but they are unable to obtain one this unit has previously worked without problem where can I obtain a...

You may be able to obtain a used working power supply sub-board for this model from various secondhand stores, eBay (as a complete combo with a different fault or working), resellers, or you can try getting a refurbished one somewhere. As for Comet, they are no help to you - get a second opinion from Panasonic directly - see if they can exchange the board for you - worth asking them.

If however, you fail completely, and cannot get a board anywhere, or even the old one repaired (which isn't economical), you may need to consider replacing the whole unit - but only as a last resort (the unit is a 2004 model so it's over 6 years old.

I need one split ac for my bedroom. i use ac for 5 hours a day. shpould i buy a 5 start rated panasonic ac for Rs 28000 or a 2 start panasonic ac for rs 18,000. how much electricity i will save in a year

A more relevant question is what size Ac do you need to do the job correctly. A unit too small will run too long, consume more power and not cool the house effectively, so in my opinion a complete waste of money. I suggest that you ask a local contractor or equipment supplier for a equipment sizing guide. If that is not available, perhaps obtain a number of quotes for the area that you wish to air-condition and then take an average sizing from those quotes. regards Col R digitalcontrols.com.au

Ductless minisplit in old mobile home

ductless mini split units are a very good choice!  they are obviously quieter, more efficient and easier to maintain than window units. the downside is the initial expense of buying the unit, but this is paid back in eletric savings and peace of mind. Good luck Peyton
