Vhs tape stuck in player also say's locked tried pw, still locked up - can't even get menu up.??

The unit is locked because it has detected a malfunction in the tape mechanism - most likely the tape has been pulled out of the cassette and caught so it has blocked the capstans and the drum.
To fix that you will have to take out the caught tape manually: open the case, access the tape mechanism and start taking the the tape itself out by cutting it in small pieces with a fine cutter and pulling it out gently- if the tape is wrapped around some parts do not pull on it, it might bend the parts. Once all the tape is gone assemble the unit back, power it and immediately press the Eject button on the VHS section. Once the tape cassette is out wait for 30 seconds and stop the unit, wait another 30 seconds and start it again - that should fix it.

As i said you must open the case of the player and cut the actual tape that has been pulled out of the cassette.

If the VHS tape is stuck inside, and when you push the eject button, it wont come out. Then you need to unplug the VHS player, take it apart so that you can access the inside. See how the tape is stuck inside and start to take it out the best you can. Once you get it out you may have to throw away the tape if it is messed up badly, if not wind it back up. Put the VHS player back together once you get the tape out. Then try to play another VHS tape and see if it works again. If not, it may be a bad VHS player or it may be the tapes. Hope this helps. My Panasonic VHS Player Model PV-V4020 is locked up so I cannot insert a new tape.

This will be some form of physical damage to the carriage mechanism, that holds the tape. Sometimes it's a simple thing like the flap getting stuck. But often it's a broken piece of plastic.

Power off when inserting vhs tape

I had this problem when copying an old family vhs tape. I had to unscrew the top of the magnavox to access the vhs tape. Then, I gently removed the tape and replaced the cover. After winding the tape back, I put it in the player and immediately pushed fast forward for about 3 seconds before hitting play followed by d.dubbing. I was able to make a copy of the tape and did not damage my original.

Vhs is stuck in machine. Won't play and won't eject.

There are any number of reasons why it won't play. The loading basket is jammed, the video tape has got tangled up in the mechanical section of the vcr or the loading gears are stripped. Unplug machine and remove top, [screws side and back] if the tape is spewed carefully remove by cutting it and clean tape particles, for any other problem have a technician check it out.

This may be caused by a faulty adapter. 1. try playing in the camera. 2. try a different tape. 3. try a different adapter.99% this is a problem with the adapter or the tape. It really sounds like the tape isn't turning freely, which can be caused by a brake sticking, or spindle in the tape or adapter.
