Cooktop Light/Night Light

On models JVM1850, JNM1851, DVM1850 and
EMO4000, replace the burned-out bulb with a 120 volt,
40-watt incandescent bulb (WB36X10003), available
from your GE supplier.

On models JVM1870, JVM1871, JVM2050 and
JVM3670, replace the burned-out bulb with a 120 volt,
20-watt halogen bulb (WB36X10213), available from
your GE supplier.

To replace the bulb(s), first disconnect the
power at the main fuse or circuit breaker panel
or pull the plug.

Remove the screw at the left edge of the light
cover and push on the right edge of the cover
to open.

Be sure the bulb(s) to be replaced are cool
before removing. After breaking the adhesive
seal, remove the bulb by either gently turning
(for models JVM1850, JNM1851, DVM1850 and
EMO4000) or pulling straight out (for models
JVM1870, JVM1871, JVM2050 and JVM3670).

Replace with the same size and type bulb.

Raise the light shield and replace the screw.

Connect electrical power to the oven.

Oven Light

Replace the burned-out bulb with a 120 volt, 20-watt
halogen bulb (WB36X10213), available from your GE supplier.

To replace the oven light, first disconnect the
power at the main fuse or circuit breaker panel
or pull the plug.

Remove the top grille by taking out the screws
on top of the grille that hold it in place and
sliding the grille to the left (opening the door
makes grille removal easier).

Next, remove the light cover.

On some models, the light cover is located
in the center of the top opening. Remove the
screw that secures the light cover and lift the
cover off.

On some models, the light cover is located at the
left of the top opening. Lift the cover off.

Pinch the clips that hold the light socket in
place and lift the socket out.

Remove the bulb from the light socket by
pulling straight out. Replace with the same size
and type bulb, then replace the light socket and
cover.

Replace the grille and screws. Connect electrical

How to change interior light bulb Emersom Microwave

If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (most often on the rear or side) and the owner's manual doesn't address it, then disassembly will be required.

You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

See these links before proceeding:
http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd/safety.txt
http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd/disassembly.txt

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs (or 20A ceramic fuses) can be had locally in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch halogen types with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Jvm2070sk02 interior light does not come on can the bulb be changed?

HELLO.

When you open the door on your microwave, it sends an electrical current to the halogen lightbulb mounted inside the microwave. The signal turns on the light and illuminates the inside of the microwave.
In addition, while cooking your food, the light illuminates so you can monitor the condition of your food while cooking. While the bulb generally lasts a long time, when it burns out, you must service your microwave.

1 Unplug the microwave from its electrical outlet. Never service an electrical appliance while it's plugged in.

2 Remove the screws that hold the outer shell onto the microwave chassis. Often the screws are on the bottom or back of the microwave. Use a Phillips screwdriver or Torx driver to remove the screws.

3 Lift the outer shell off the microwave chassis and locate the box that houses the halogen lightbulb. In most cases, the box is metal. It may or may not have a lid on it. If it has a lid, loosen the tabs and pull off the lid.

4 Unscrew the halogen bulb and replace it with a bulb rated at the exact same wattage.

5 Place the cover back onto the box if necessary and place the shell over the microwave chassis.

6 Secure the shell to the chassis with the original screws and the screwdriver or torx driver.

THANKS.

Microwave light is burnt out

Accessing the internal light bulb on model KBMC140HSS bulb will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download Whirlpool / Kitchenaid owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

GE Spacesaver JVM 1870 carousel doesn't turn, doesn't heat

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation and other operations, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.

Details of our service and critical safety information and disassembly information is at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

Glass Surface Light Lens Cracks from Halogen lights use

The lights do get very hot, so they must be a sufficient distance from the lens. Was there an instruction sheet with the new lens? You may need to adjust the sockets upward. You might call a local GE-authorized servicer to see. Concerning the vent fan, this is a problem with the control panel assembly, which we repair nationwide for $39.95.
