Unable to view my Address book

I have a Blackberry Curve 8310 and for some reason I am not able to view my contacts under my Address book. It shows I have 103 contacts listed and when I dial a # that is stored in my Address book the name and # of the person I am calling pops up so this gives me hope that my contacts are not deleted.

No address book shows up. Fix: with unit on..remove battery, reinstall battery and let it go thru rebooting cycle. Address book should reappear

This is typically caused by a filter being applied in the address book. Open you address book, press the BB menu button, and select filter. Once you are in the filter options, make sure that all check boxes are unchecked, then exit back out.

This may not be the cause of everyone's issue, but it may be a solution to some of the problems.

Another thing to check is if the contact are actually in the "Sim Phone Book" opposed to the regular address book. Open your address book, press the BB menu key, and select "Sim Phone Book". After doing this, you may see all of your contact in there and you should be able to copy the contacts to the BB.

Address book won't show contacts

Go into your Address book
Hit the Menu Button
Go to Filter
Make sure that both the business and personal box's are NOT checked
If they are checked you need to uncheck them
This should restore your contacts... If it does not restore them then you have a Bigger Issue!!!

Need Help

You will need to use the Desktop Manager in order to do this. You can download it from here:

http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/

Once installed, do the following (instructions are based off of 4.6 version of Desktop Manager):
  1. Connect your BlackBerry to your computer via USB and open the Desktop Manager.
  2. Open the Backup and Restore section.
  3. Click on the Advanced button in the Advanced section. On the left-hand side the list of the device databases will show.
  4. Scroll down and select Address Book.
  5. Click the Clear button.
This will clear all contacts off the BlackBerry.
