windows update.???
my PC has like over 100, with 99 apps and w10 too.

endless updates, on mine,
but all turned off, but w10. (and delayed by me using PRO)

You need to install (1) the webcam driver, and (2) the webcam software. If your hp does not provide the webcam software, then you can use manycam.com's webcam software.

Where can I find the drivers for the HP truevision Web cam in my HP Pavilion dv7-4117ez

To use the webcam you need the HP MediaSmart Webcam Software installed.
If it is not functioning well anymore, re-install it. In most cases the installed HP
software packages are saved in the C:\SWSETUP folder on your harddisk.

Check the version of the installed HP MediaSmart Webcam Software, and if you
need it you can find v3.0 here:

My wireless button is orange instead of white and I can not get any wireless connection

You lost your internet connection.
Try Windows Key Plus X - and check all the wireless connection settings. This happens a lot on my probook4520 if i move around my house with it and loose the wifi, or the internet gets busy at certain times of the day and you get bumped off..

* the one that must be entered as soon as you power-on the computer?

* the one that must be entered when the computer accesses the password-protected disk-drive?

How to configure HP Premium Autofocus Webcam "KQ245AA#ABL" with Window XP SP3.

First thing would be to install the drivers, and then you can use any webcam software to use it. Might be that HP installs some extra software for specific settings.

I got a webcam but no software ?

go to hp .com/webcam software put in model number of cam and it will have the software download or contact hp directly and tell them it was not in package and they will send one to you
