Hello, the first thing is make sure the AC is tilted a bit in the window, if it is level the water will collect toward the front of the unit and drip inside. Second if there is a drain hole on tne unit then you can connect a hose to it and let it drain. However if there is no drain hole then the unit uses tne fan blade to splash the water on the condenser and since the condenser is warm/hot it will condense the water.

I have a Sunair portable air conditioner, model ACKPSA9 and need a manual or know how to fill the water. Thank Con

air conditioners do not need water in the tank as they remove the moisture from the air and condense it into water
for mobile ac units that would need a collection tank or the water would run onto the floor
window and split systems have a drain hose to the outside
if the unit needs water then it is not an air conditioner but an evaporative cooling system in which case water is pumped a cross a filter that a fan blows air through
now you have to decide which you have

I have the LG LP1200DXR and it is leaking near the wheel and i cant figure out why, when we drain it no water comes out what could the problem be?

All air conditioners collect condensate. It has to drain somewhere. Try connecting tubing to the drain hole or port. In order for air conditioners to remove heat from a space, they also remove humidity, which is water vapor in the air. Like placing a cold beverage in a warm room, it will form condensate (water) around it. The water that you were trying to drain out already leaked out. This is a normal thing for condensation to form when cooling. The condensate needs to be emptied regularly or piped with flexible tubing to a window or plumbing. This is the same as water dripping from your car while the A/C is on.

Why does the vent line fill with condensation and not drain

If the drain line from the furnace is plugged up then the water will back up in the vent line. The primary venting is suppose to have a drain outlet if it is discharged from the side or 90 deg up from the draft inducer blower. This is sometimes provided with a small drain tube and fitting at the 90 deg fitting depending on the model. The drain is suppose to go to the primary collection point where the drain is tied in with the primary condensate drain line. The plastic heat exchanger cover has a number of drain ports to accommodate any configuration or installation, this means that the drain lines need to be connected according to the application being used.
Note: Have found that in colder climates where the small venting hoses used fron the safety switches can trap water if not strapped up or sloped toward the primary collection point.

I dont know where the reservoir is in my air conditioner, is there a hose to hook up to drain the water becuase now it is leaking on my floor

On the Air-To Air Model, the majority of the moisture is supposed to exhausted out the exhaust hose and out the window. However, if it is extremely humid, the water collection tank will capture what is not exhausted. There is no hose, To drain it, there is a removable drain plug on the back of the unit, down near the floor level. You can either drain it in a low sided pan, that is capable of holding at least 1 quart of water. Or you can disconnect the unit and roll it to a floor drain (if you have one) or out doors to drain the water.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a Samsung dehumidifier model HD4080A I'd like to get a drain tube. Do you know of the kind/size I need? If so, please provide. Thank you.

Generally, all that is needed is a section of garden hose, no longer than 5 feet.. The female connection of the garden hose attaches to the male drain hose connection on the unit. A water hose for a washing machine will work,

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

How do I correctly drain water from my air conditioner? Is there a tank at the back that I empty every now and then or do I continously drain it. It is a portable 5000 BTU

Yes the tank does need to be drained. There is a short drain hose that was supplied with the unit. It attaches to the hose connection the back of the unit. Use a 5 gallon bucket to drain it with the hose.

Or iis you rather, you can just pull out the tank and dump it in the sink or a tub. Be sure to turn the unit OFF and unplug it, before removing the water collection tank.

I have included a link to the Owner's Manual for a model similar to yours. The instrcutions will be the same. Copy and paste the link into your web browser.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Cheers!

I own 2 Haier air conditioners. Same model number, purchased at the same time. Plugged them in yesterday and one is collecting water in the bottom and shuts off. The only way to get it to come back on is...

Condensation occurs when warm, humid air is pulled across a cold fins of an air conditioner and blown out the front as cool, dry air.

What is happening with your air conditioner sounds to be normal operation - here's why:

The condensate usually drips onto the ground from traditional window air conditioner units or through a pipe to the ground from remote air handlers of split systems. Since yours has no place to drain away into soil or waste pipe, it is collected in a compartment that must be emptied, just like a dehumidifier. When the compartment is full, the unit shuts off - otherwise the compartment would overflow on the the flooring or carpet. This could be a very expensive repair if hardwood floors were damaged or carpeting were to become moldy. Even more so if the the space under yours were finished - like an apartment building or if you used this on the second floor of your home - and damage to the ceiling below were damaged.

You could operate the device if it were connected by a hose to a drain at or below the bottom of the connection point (a floor drain, shower drain, etc.) or if the unit were placed on a counter top and allowed to drain into a sink or other drain / waste pipe below the the hose connection point. The hose must not get higher than the connection point at the drain plug on the air conditioner to work properly.

I hope this helps and good luck.

We conected for the first time a frigidaire portable air conditioner. I dont have the manual. It works great, but I don't know where am I suppose to connect the black thin hose that came with the a/c...

That black hose is for the drain as air conditioners collect moisture as a side effect of cooling the air. That black hose should connect on to the outside bottom of the unit. It wll flood if the drain hole or nipple are plugged or blocked off. The air conditioner, if a window model, should not sit level in the opening but canter slightly to the outside to help drain off that moisture collected. If the nipple is broken off you'll need to find a way to mount that hose in the hole without sticking up into the unit so it can drain the water off. The hose is necessary to keep the water flowing outside instead of flooding the opening or inside.
Hope this helps and please rate my solution!!

Licking water on my Royal Sovereign 1000 es

There is a little hole about one inch above the the drain tube and out of it should come a rubber strap connected to a plug for the drain tube. On the far left of the control panel is a diagram of a bucket under a water drop, just below is an led that comes on when the water tank is full and needs to be emptied. I just roll mine out on the porch and pull the plug. Also, when the tank is full the unit should shut off.

Collecting water on top of house boat from air conditioner

Thess units are designed to discharge the condensed water onto the roof under normal conditions. HOWEVER you should be able to have a sheet metal person make up a drain pan to fit under the unit.
You would ten need to add an additional gasket between the drain pan to roof and drain pan to A/C unit. The drain pan could have a hose connection attached to the drain pan. Try it, you might like it.
Also you may have to get longer screws to tighten down the A/C from below.
