I bought a TP-LINK TLWN7200ND adapter, but it doesn't detect any 802.11b/g router, even with the latest version fo the driver for Windows XP. How can I fix it? Does only work with TP-LINK 802.11n routers? Thanks.

I have used a similar adapter on windows 7 as well as on ubuntu 10.04 (linux), and it detects it upon restart without any external drivers.

try on a system with any of these to confirm that the adapter is good. this could be a hardware fault.

also, try changing the card slot as there could be a problem with the slot.

if it works fine on these, then make sure you are using the correct drivers (the ones exactly for this device and not for another similar device)

Driver TLWN422G 54Mbps

Go to TP-Link's web page (here), click on "Download" and choose the correct version (1 or 2). There is also a link on that page which tells you how to find the correct version of your adapter.
Then download the driver for your Operating System (XP, Vista, 7).
Note: They do not provide Linux drivers.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Today, I was using my brand new WN822N adapter on my desktop (which I bought it for) and I started getting massive fluctuations in connection speed (215 mbps - 13.5 mbps in a matter of seconds), all the...

There appears to be some interference from external sources. Check if:
  • Your router is near anything that can give any microwave radiation
  • Your router is anywhere near a freezer/refrigerator
  • Your router is near any device that gives off any interference
You might need to boost the signal in the router. Try using the device on a computer that is closer to the router and check if the fluctuations still occur. If they do you might have a faulty adapter and you may have to return/replace it.

I installed TP-Link WN7200 on Windows 7 Home Premium, the drivers is not digitally signed. The adapter is disabled and I can't enable it. There is no error in device manager. Please help me.

It is ok if the driver is not digitally signed. There's no need to worry.

To enable the adapter:
  1. Click on the Windows Start button
  2. Type in "network"
  3. Open "Network and Sharing Center"
  4. On the left bar, click on "Change Adapter Settings"
  5. Select your wireless adapter
  6. Right click on the wireless adapter then select Enable.
If you cannot select Enable, it means your adapter is already enabled. The adapter has a gray icon due to it not being connected to a router.

Need to know where I can get driver download.

Possible causes:
1)The Operating System on the computer might not support the Plug & Play feature or need latest system updates.
2)The USB port or PCI slot on the computer might be faulty.
3)Extension cable (if being used) that connects the USB adapter and the computer might be faulty.
4)There is no driver support for the Operating system.
Symptoms:
1)LED will not light up on the adapter.
2)Found New Hardware Wizard does not come up.
Resolutions:
1) Make sure you meet the minimum system requirements for the adapter and have the latest updates on the computer.
2)Use the latest driver for the adapter. Latest drivers link is mentioned below.
3)Try a different USB port or PCI slot on the computer.
4)Try another device and check if it gets detected.
5)Try to connect the adapter directly to the computer without using an extension cable.
6)Try restarting the computer or try adapter on a different computer.
