Hello, I've had my HP Compaq 610 T5870 156 WH248UTABA for some time now, and the screen has suddenly gone white. I can still hear music from the computer and the windows 7 desktop still operates. I plugged it into a TV using a VGA cord and the display works fine. I'm not sure what to do.

Hi,

Restart the notebook and check. If the issue still persist, disconnect the power cord, take out the battery, press the power button for 30 seconds to drain out static electricity.

Connect the battery back and turn the notebook on and check, if the issue is still there your notebook needs a repair. The screen has gone bad, the graphics chipset is good as you are getting a display on your TV.

Regards,
Shrey

How to fix headphone jack on compaq 610

What do you mean by fix? Is it physically broken? It's attached to the motherboard so you'd have a time fixing it.

Hello there. I have a HP 610 laptop and have recently installed Windows 7 to it. Since then, my scrolling pad isn't working. How can i make it scroll again? (:

You have to download an add-on from the available software downloads for your device on the website.
All you need to do is to follow the link below and scroll down to the Driver-keyboard, mouse and input device section.
Download the first file that says Synaptics TouchPad Driver.
After download, install the file and restart your computer. This would help you use your touchpad scroll again.

Compaq 610 when i start vdu is white screen and

hI,
if the screen is completely white the problem could be a bad LCD cable. To cross check if the problem with the LCD or the motherboard. Connect an external monitor to the laptop. Tap the Fn + F8 key together to get the display to toggle to the external monitor if the display comes on the external monitor without any problems the problem is with the LCD and you would have to take the laptop for repairs.
