Can not use my labtop without being plug in. the battery light is dem.

Then theres a chance the battery is shot. this happens alot with labtops it seems and the only way to fix this would be to purchase a new battery. what happens is not all computers run on just AC power and when fully charged still use the battery. when the computer is plugged in all the time its constantly useing and charging the battery at the same time and this causes the battery to drain entirely and become useless, here is a link to get a new battery. i sugest looking around online to find better pricing but heres a start. hope this helps :)

Take out battery & AC adapter plug. Wait 10 minutes.

Plug in AC adapter without the battery. Power on the laptop. If it works, put in the battery when laptop is running.

The battery may have a failed protective device inside of it. If it new, the battery should be covered by warranty.

When the battery is installed in laptop and charger plugged in, there should be a light on laptop that lights up to show it is plugged into a charging source/ power source.

if the light does not light, see if it will light up with battery removed from laptop. If it does not light up, and you cannot power up the laptop- the power supply has failed.

Before you panic see if there is some hidden reset code from the manufacturer. If not, then you get concerned.
Check to see if you are using the right protocol to get it out of the hibernate mode.

do you still have your battery working? if not, you may have a problem with the adapter. could be a partial contact from the main adapter or at the charging port on your laptop. use a tester and check for continuity on the adapter cable and also check the power output going into the laptop.

either the power block or battery is faulty. remove battery and see if it will run directly off the power block, if not, you need a new power block.

First Try charging the battery fully, then try turning on the computer. If it goes out suddenly it will more than likely need to be replaced.

You can request a new battery from the gateway website under customer support.

If you are not sending the battery back and are planning to throw it out if it is no good, Refer to the Material Safety and Data Sheet for proper disposal.
