Apple iPod nano 3rd Generation Logo
Anonymous Posted on Aug 18, 2008

My 4 GB ipod nano has a blank screen but still lights up, blank with NO logo and I can play songs there is just no way to see what you are doing. I unplugged the ipod and the screen has been lit and blank since. I;ve tried plugging it back into the computer and turning it off, but nothing is working. what do i do? Same problem here too, works but no menu on the screen. It stopped during my running workout. I sent the unit to Apple who claims that it has internal damage related to a liquid. Poor service, what a crappy design for the money, I didn't expect a throwaway for what was spent.

First of all try rebooting your Ipod by holding down the center button while holding down on the menu button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, you Ipod is rebooting.

If that doesn't work, restore your Ipod back to factory setting in Itunes. It could be that the brightness and contrast settings of your screen got out of position allowing the screen to appear blank.

USB-IPOD play is stuck. The receiver reads the ipod and tells me what song is up, but will not play. No error message and was working perfectly with same ipod before.

I have the exact same damn problem. It tempermental, whenever it wants to. I never had a problem until a few days ago. Sometimes I turn on my car and it will play a few songs and than when a next one starts it stops, sometimes right from the get go it won't work. Same thing as you though, it displace the song name but doesn't play it. Its so frusterating.

My ipod nano third generation is frozen

You should not plug the ipod to pc while it is playing because it is switches from the playing mode to sync and charging mode you can not play and use the ipod while it is connected with the software without ejecting it from itunes. Do a reset by pressing and holding the center and menu buttons at the same time until the screen goes back and apple logo pops up. This should reset your ipod and fix the problem.
