this occurs because of the disc is badly scratched,,so try to clean the disc by a soft colth, even after this the disc shows bad, the disc cannot be used with player,, thank you plz rate me...
Basically you have two options, as there are many things that can malfunction or become damaged. Rendering it usually un fixable...
Cheap solution Buy a laser cleaning disc, extremely cheap sold almost anywhere that says electronics. Use the disc in the DVD player.
Expensive Buy a new one unfortunately, as the repair cost would run you as much as a new DVD player.
Sorry for your misfortune, and don't feel bad I bought a very nice one and it crapped out on me in less than 6 months. Bought a very cheap one and its lasted me the last 2 years and still going strong.
What are the compatible types of DVD's that the Daewoo DVD5800 player is supposed to play? Is DVD-R among the compatible types? Try playing the new recordings on a computer that has a DVD drive, or a friend's computer.
Your laser eye is dirty or out of alignment. If you know how to clean it then do it, if not buy a cleaning kit for around $20. If that wouldn't fix it then have someone who know re-align it. Goodluck.
Have you tryed to use a lens cleaning disc yet. The laser lens on these players and recorders alike, must have the lens cleaned every oince in awhile. If that does not help, most likly you have a bad laser pickup assembly and you will need to replace the plaer as to have that repaiered, you could buy a new unit. Good Luck
If you are using a copied disc try a real one. But this model of DVD Player is made so cheap. it sound like the laser assembly is bad or the motor that spins the disc is stuck or going out. If you are good at electroninics you could take the lid off load a disc and see if it spins if not give it a spin clockwise and see if it takes off. You probably should replace unit for price of a new one.
