I'm not sure of your problem exactly but here is what I found!

This is your manual for the MP3 unit you have. On page 14 it details how to transfer music from your computer onto your Sansa.
So ,
-Plug it in! - plug it into the computer and wait until it comes up
-Open your music software - Open your iTunes or Windows Media Center and access your music
-Open the Sansa "Media" folder
-Simply highlight your music and drag them into this folder and you should be able to access them!
If you are attempting to download directly from the internet onto your unit, you must first save them to a folder on your computer and then you can drag them onto your Sansa just like with music files.
perhaps you do not have the audio player for the music.ext you are downloading. Look at the file name. It should say something like music.mp3 or some other 3 letter extension. Make sure you have the proper application to run it.
