How do you replace the water hose part#5210JA3004A on the back of my kenmore elite french door refrigerator? It cracked.
WELL that depends. I'm assuming its to the dispenser not working or the ice maker? Anyways I'll just assume it leaks when you try to get water. Pull all of the shelves out of the fresh food section of the unit. You will have to dissemble the water filter housing on the unit. You will have you pull off the cover (no screws) then there are 2 or 3 1/4 screws holding that housing on the upper left in place (depending on model) bring down the water filter housing and identify your broken water line. These are quick connect water line connectors. They have a blue or red circle around where the line goes in. You push the red circular part into the connector like a (Chinese Finger Trap) and pull out the water line. You may have to undo some Philips screws on the back of the cabinet. Trace the broken line down the back of the unit where you will take the back panel off and remove the screws holding on the water inlet valve. Be carful, if you have a copper water line and your house is wired wrong, there is a very small chance it could be electrified. UNPLUG THE UNIT (**RAW 120 VOLTS IS RUNNING THROUGH THOSE WIRES EVEN IF YOU AREN'T ENGAGING THE WATER LEVER***!!!) You dont need it plugged in for diagnosing or repairing at all and considering this is modeled after an LG fridge, never work on it live. The water inlet valve has the same (compression style quick connect) you have to push in the O ring and remove the water line out of the valve too (needle nose pliars for beginners because the water line is already damaged anyways, just be careful not to break off the waterline in the valve) run the line (** quick connect your new part**)FROM THE WATER FILTER HOUSING FIRST then connect it to the valve, then tighten up the water line along the back of the unit. Then carefully re-install all parts AND CHECK FOR LEAKS WHILE ITS STILL PULLED OUT (*have your wife, brother, friend try to get water out of the dispenser first) ((((((If its the ice maker water line you should install it the same exact way, except that line usually runs through the upper left shoulder of the fridge, or it runs kind of like its entering the freezer and you only connect it to the water valve. After everything checks ok for leaks when you try to get water you're all set.
