A plastic pan under the unit with some small hose can divert the water elsewhere. use silicone calk to seal the hose in the hole you drilled in the bottom of the pan NEVER DRILL THE PAN OF THE AC UNIT ! use something to catch the water.. if you drill the unit, you take the chance of hitting one if the AC lines !!! there no fix'n that

I have a small 5000 btu window unit air conditioner made by arctic king does not have a hole for the excess water to drain.

I've repaired a lot of window units because someone has drilled a hole in the pan, to drain water, and hit the coil. Please do not drill any holes in anything! These units utilize condensate water to help reject the heat in the outdoor coil. If water is reaching the outdoor fan, it either does not have the proper "lean" or slope, or it's designed to allow water to reach the fan, and not much you can do. If it is designed to allow water to cool the outdoor coil, and you were to drain that water so that no condensate water cools the outdoor coil, this will allow the unit to operate with an excessive outdoor coil temp, and shorten the life of the compressor, or cause the unit to operate poorly/warm supply air temp. Try to give it just a little more "lean". Hope this helps!

I have had a MWK-05CMN1- b17 5000 btu window mounted air conditioner unit that i bought last year. It was only used a couple times. It never cooled down the room. And when i finally used it and relized it...

From what you are saying, it sounds like the air conditioner is a lemon.
Unfortunatly, these small room size air conditioners are not worth the cost of reapir.

Took it out of Box, Pluged it in to First Make Sure it Worked and It VIBRATES So Bad Im Scared to Install it.....What should I do?

If you think something is wrong with the air conditioner, you take it back to the store. No a new air conditioner should not vibrate violently. They are pretty quite, so take it back to the store, and exchange it for another one.

Where is fedders 5000 btu drain plug

If you have a window unit or thru the wall unit, Drain Hole is located under the drip pan at near the rear of the unit. It may be difficult to find if it is clogged. As the clog will blend in wit the hole.

Hope this helps you locate it. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Window or wall mount

The differance between a window and wall mounted A/C is the mounting system.
Window units are usually smaller BTU systems they set in the window, so you do not have to cut a hole in the wall to install it.
For a bedroom say 10 x 10 you can use @ 5000 btu it plugs into a standard 120 volt electric outlet. If the room is bigger then go bigger say @ 6000 btu or so. Take your room dementions with you when shopping for a unit. sometimes they have sizing on the side of the unit box.
Wall units are usually larger units. Like whole house 18,000 btu
they slide in and out of the case and use a 240 volt seperate circuit.
Best place to shop for A/C's are Home Depot, Lowes, Sams Club, B.J.'s, and Cosco they buy in large volumeusually give a Good deal I've seen 5000 btu units as low as $89.00
Just don't drop the unit out the window when installing it
From the second floor it will void your warranty. LOL
Good Luck Phil
