My Emerson DVD player says Disc Error Playback feature may not be available on this disc

The error message "Disc Error Playback feature may not be available on this disc" can have a few different causes. Here are some of the most common:
  • The disc is not compatible with the DVD player. Some DVD players are only compatible with certain regions or formats of discs. If the disc you are trying to play is not compatible with your DVD player, you will get this error message.
  • The disc is damaged. If the disc is scratched, dirty, or otherwise damaged, it may not be able to be read by the DVD player.
  • The DVD player is faulty. If the DVD player is faulty, it may not be able to read discs correctly.
Here are some things you can try to fix the problem:
  • Try playing the disc in another DVD player. If the disc plays in another DVD player, then the problem is with your DVD player.
  • Clean the disc. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the disc. Be careful not to scratch the disc.
  • Format the disc. If the disc is formatted for a different region or format, you may need to format it for your DVD player.
  • Reset the DVD player. If the DVD player is faulty, you may need to reset it.
If you have tried all of these things and you are still getting the error message, then you may need to replace the DVD player.

I would like to know how to finalise a disc on a DUAL - Model DVR-W5002 please

The DUAL DVR-W5002 is a dual layer DVD recorder, which means you can record data onto two layers of a DVD disc. To finalize a disc on this device, you'll need to follow these steps:
  1. Make sure the disc is loaded and ready for recording.
  2. Press the "Record" button to enter the recording menu.
  3. Select the option to "Finalize" the disc. This option is usually found under the "Disc" or "Setup" menu.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the disc. This process may take a few minutes to complete.
  5. Once the finalization process is complete, the disc should be readable on other DVD players.
Note: Finalizing a disc makes it readable on other DVD players, but it also makes it permanent and prevents further recording on the disc. Before finalizing a disc, make sure that you have recorded all the necessary data and that you won't need to add any more files to the disc in the future.

Tray won't close

Use the following steps to close the disc tray on an original Xbox 360 console.
Step 1: Remove the disc from the tray Step 2: Make sure the faceplate is on correctly
The faceplate is the plastic piece on the front of your console.
  • Press firmly around the edges of your faceplate to snap it into place (make sure it is flush with the rest of the console). If the faceplate is not on correctly, the disc tray won't close.
  • If you find that the faceplate is the problem, please contact Xbox Support to order a replacement faceplate.
If this does not resolve your issue, please try step 3. Step 3: Press the eject buttonTry closing the disc tray by pressing the eject button. If the disc tray successfully closes, open the tray and insert a disc. Now try opening and closing the tray with a disc in the tray.
Note Make sure that the disc isn't sticky and doesn't have any labels that could prevent the tray from closing.
If your disc drive still will not close, please try step 4. Step 4: Move the disc drive tray

The dvd wont initialize blanc discs so that i can record with it.i have used different disc as well

Do you mean it won't format/initialize the disc? Alternative possible problem, when you put in a disc, does it not recognize that a blank disc is in the unit? Only DVD-RAM discs need formatting. DVD-RW discs need to be initialized. DVD-R disc do not need either formatting or initializing. (This unit does not write to DVD+R or DVD+RW discs.)

In the case of DVD-RW discs that can't be initialized. Check if this has already been done (or if you need to unfinalize the disc).

If the new disc is not being recognized as a blank disc, the recorder may not be recognizing the disc (dirt, scratches or manufacturing issue) or the recorder is not focusing on the disc properly. In the first case, clean the disc or try a different type of disc (Samsung claims that their discs will be most compatible). In the second case, the unit may need service.

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(usually tracking and focus problems will be seen on both recording and playback (even with commercial discs).)

My Xbox 360 keeps scratching my game discs?

Sounds like the xbox console needs the laser adjusted or secured as per the other comments. For any discs issues, read on.

Check to see if there are any scratches or laser burn marks on the discs.Scratches or marks on discs will render game discs unplayable or will freeze the game and will often show a message stating "Disc Read Error" or something to that effect. Best remedy for starters, is to clean the discs and make sure there are no scratches or marks left on the play-side of the discs. A common problem that XBOX owners are reporting is; if the console is moved during play, a whirring noise is heard and then when the disc is removed, very visible laser burn rings are found on the disc.

Laser burn, looks like complete or partial circular scratches around your disc. This occurs to discs when the games console has been moved whilst playing. Discs are then impaired by a ring of laser burn, which is a circular scratch into the disc. Some home remedies may help with very light scratches on some discs but a professional disc repair service is normally required to fix laser burn scratches or damage to XBOX discs.

For further help on XBOX disc repairs or to get XBOX discs repaired back to "As Good As New Condition", visit:

www.discREPAIR.ie

Check the "More Info" & "FAQ" Sections for further details on disc repairs and related matters.

If this laser burn scenario is consistently happening to your game discs especially if the console has not been moved or bumped against while the disc is in play, the games console itself may require repair. You should contact Microsoft for assessment and guidelines.

Hope this Helps!!

Rear brake disc is loose.

You may not need to. Many of the newer bikes incorporate a "floating disc", the purpose of this to eliminate disc drag in the event the disc warps. Check to see if the disc has special rivets or shoulder screws that secure it. The disc should have about .040" or 1mm of free play.
