A line on an LCD screen can be cause by the screen itself going bad or the T-con board. The T-con board the attached to the screen on the backside and covered by a heatshield. If you get teh part number from it you can find it online from one of the many retails that might have it. Like www.interliquidparts.com

I have a sony 52 inch bravia kdl-3000 and there is a line on the left side from top to bottom. if its the panel that needs to be replaced what would it cost.
Sony panels run around $1,500.00 and up. Go to Face Book and type in (I Have a Defective SONY TV.) Click on LIke So you can Post Your Problem. Their you can get a replacement TV From SONY !!!! If it turns out that you do have a Bad Display Panel.

I have a thin red line vertically on the left side of my 52" sony bravia...it is in perfect line with the menu bar for the comcast display, could this menu bar be the problem??
You have a defective panel. The only fix is to replace the panel. This would not be cost effective. Cheaper to buy a new TV.

You have failing T-CON board, try to get it fixed under warranty as soon as possible, you will get more lines as time goes by.
