Gigaset 4000 can't remember system pin to reregister phone or return it to default [0000]

1. On the base station:
press and hold the registration/paging key
(¢ page 1) for min. 3 sec.
2. On the handset:
within 60 sec. of pressing the registration/
paging key
MENU ¢ Settings ¢ OK ¢ Handset ¢ OK ¢ Register HS ¢ OK ¢ Enter the
system PIN of the base station (default is 0000) ¢ OK.
Registering flashes in the display.
Registration takes approx. 1 minute.

To reset the Gigaset 2420 Pin
At "System Settings" in the Menu press *65# then press the Select button.
"System PIN Reset" will be displayed (if the PIN was not already the default).
The default PIN is 0000.

One handset is preregistered to the base. You had two. You indicated returning the pin to 0000. To do so, you must have entered a code to deregister the pin and go to factory defaults. Your best option is to call and let them walk you through a clearing and registration process if the above links does not suffice to the quick reference guide.

try using all zeros usually 5 zeros

There is a way to override and reset... I think you need to press *67# when in the system pin area via menu. Confirm this first though. There is a way to do this though- then you reset it to 0000- google it and you will find the answer-

Try DeRegistering and ReRegistering the handset:
From the base system:

• Press Menu
• Scroll to System Settings - press select
• Enter System PIN - press select (default pin is 0000)
• Scroll to Mobile Deregustration - press ok
• Scroll to the corresponding intercom # - press select

Then turn on Handset:

• Please Register will be displayed - press ok or Register
• Enter System PIN - press ok

At Base:

• Press Menu
• Scroll to System Settings - press select
• Enter System PIN - press select

Back to the Handset:

• When Select Intercom Number is displayed, select the number - press ok

The default PIN for base and handsets is 0000 - if it has not been changed

• Press Menu on Handset
• Scroll to Mobile Settings - press ok
• Scroll to Local Settings - press ok
• Scroll to Chang Pin - press ok
• Enter Current handset PIN - press ok
• Enter New PIN - press ok
• Display will show Confirm - Reenter PIN - press ok

Press menu and dial 8-9-3-7-6-2-0-0 to reset pin to 0000. If found this on another forum and it works - just tried it. Cheers.
