If you have activated and validated windows then you might try to update the drivers through windows update for the sound devices. If this does not work go to Start Menu/ All Programs/ Run - type without quotation marks "msinfo32" and press enter or click OK. This will give you the required information about installed hardware. After you have this information you will have the best luck finding the correct version of drivers at the manufacturers web site for the computer or motherboard. If all else fails the you can use a program like "SIW" or something similar to find the name of the sound device and this will help to locate the correct driver trough alternative web sites. It will be listed usuallly for something like Realtek, Creative, Soundblaster, AC97....etc.....

Hope this helps.......

I need a sound device for my newly formated pc; Its Microsoft windows XP Professional & im from Philippines...

If you are planning to get a sound device hardware like a PCI card you can choose CMI8738 audio PCI Audio Device may suffice your needs.

If built in on your motherboard use your motherboard installer or manually go to sound device folder to install the driver.

If you don't have the motherboard installer, try its manufacturer's site then choose the exact model number and version, to get the right driver.

Hi, i'm kenny ifeoluwa, i got a desktop pc of  ECS M791G.I JUST FORMATTED IT WITH WINDOWS XP AND I CAN'T FIND TH MULTIMEDIA AUDIO CONTROLLER.

Are you asking for the audio driver for your motherboard, And did you mean that you installed xp. Formatting is just creating a partition. If that is what you are asking for, it should be included in your installation disk, or your motherboard disk. You probablly have a realtek sound device so any drivers that you may need should be thare unless you have a seperate sound card, then go to the site that makes the card, and get what you need.

No sound on my computer my board is km400-m2 windows xp newly formatted

Every time after formating the hard disk and doing the fresh installation of windows, you need to install the driver i.e. in motherboard CD that you are got with your motherboard. After installation of all driver; the pc will work smoothly.

Go to the above site and download "driverpack mass storage" and slipstream into your windows CD.

Uninstall xp

You can remove service pack 2 from within add/remove programmes, you will not lose any documents, but you will lose the udated security patches which is not recommended. If you mean you wish to remove XP SP completely, obviously the files and everything you have installed on c drive will be deleted as you can only save docs etc within an operating system, as c: is just a partition on your hard drive the files reside within the operating system. If you are upgrading to another operating system my advice would be to use a dual boot system and install the other operating system on a seperate partition of your drive, but you would have to have a fair knowledge of pc operating system installation processes.

Continuous restarting with winxp

On computers that contain Windows 98 and Windows XP: ? Windows 98 must be installed on a basic disk on a partition formatted with FAT or FAT32. If Windows 98 or Windows Me is not installed on the system partition, which is almost always the first partition on the disk, the system partition must also be formatted with FAT or FAT32. ? Compressed DriveSpace or DoubleSpace volumes won't be available while you are running Windows XP. It is not necessary to uncompress DriveSpace or DoubleSpace volumes that you will access only with Windows 98. ? Windows XP must be installed last. Otherwise important files needed for starting Windows XP could be overwritten
