My phone charges but never reaches the stage where message says "your battery is full now", even if i leave it overnight to charge. then when i turn the phone on, it's life is only a couple of hours - most of it on standby (i don't use phone a lot). Do i have a problem with the battery or with the phone itself?

If u just got it return it. your battery is died need new one.tip to make battery last longer. when u get a new battery by itself or it is part of something like a cell phone. do not charge most have half power right out of the box. use battery until it is 100% died.then charge it until full don't over charge. it is a trick to make your battery last long when it has a full charge. never leave battery charging overnight if done to much it makes the battery weak and wont hold charge for long. never leave charging cord plugged in when its not in use. when it is power from the socket is still flowing in the charger which is slowly frying it. that why most people go though up to 4 chargers for each device. i hope this helps have a sweet one!!

Hi sounds like your batteries are faulty.I have seen "brand new" batteries that are faulty. Do you leave your machine on charge for days or weeks on end? Most chargers should only be put on overnight after use that day. Some chagers will reduce to a "float " charger after a few hours a full charge, these can be left on for weeks at a time without harming the batteries. Most of the 4 amp chargers are for overnight only as they do not reduce the charge voltage after full charge is reached.
If the new batteries did not help then you might a faulty connector on the battery or motor leads. I have removed the battery connectors from many machines as they can cause this type of problem.
Try asking the national agents for help, or get someone from a local social service group to help. Ask the advice from a different service company about the problem. Good luck. Neil.

If you have the PS130 12v Battery, and the one-hour rapid charger from Black and Decker, then, in theory, it should only take an hour to charge the battery (according to them). However, I would leave the battery on charge for at least several hours to guarantee a full charge each time. That battery is a NiCad cell battery, and these typically take longer to reach a full capacity charge. So give it a few hours at least, but it probably wont hurt it if you left the battery on charge even overnight either... But don't let them charge for longer than 18 hours maximum!

firstly the battery from new will need charging for about 8 hours to boost it after that it should reach full charge in about 1 hour it will charge if it is on or off and when off should show a charging bar how ever there is no way it will recognise when fully charged so dont leave over night otherwise it will reduce battery life greatly

Even if the battery is new, if it is not charged properly it can run down pretty fast. To reset the battery I recommend running the battery all the way down - charging the battery all the way back up to full - and then repeat. Also, make sure you do not charge the battery after it is full. Most phones or charge units have signals to tell you when the battery is fully charged. Do not charge the battery overnight.
