I bought this TV 1 year and 1/2 ......and the picture looks like an X ray ...colors are totally different ...Im very sad....I paid a lot for that TV brand new!!!!!!!! any advice? thank you very much KDL40V4100 SONY BRAVIA

One of two possible issues:

1. Lamp is nearing end of life and may dim just before total failure.

2. A few of these models have 2 mirrors(check with Mitsubishi to see if yours is one) A large mirror in back (never gives a problem and do not try to clean it. Some idiot in these sets used a small mirror inside that the optical unit shines the picture into (wedge shaped mirror and small) and it is facing up----the fans intake air from the front of the set around this mirror--it gets coated with lots of dust---Picture can loose up to 70% of its brightness and clarity if that mirror is dirty--looks like 20 year old set .

If you do not wish to check with Mitsubishi GOOGLE THE MODEL NUMBER with "mirrors" to see.

If it has 2 mirrors I can tell you exactly how to get at it.

It will look great. You can actually set it for 1080i. I have an older model HDTV(no HDMI) and a bluray player it looks great. TVs that are 720p will actually do 1080i. The only difference is 1080i is two pictures interlaced(the way tv has always been before digital) and 1080p is one single shot. If this helps please rate me. Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Convergence

* Screen Looks 3D, Warped, Distorted, etc
* Colors do not line up
* TV may shut off - and make a chirping sound.

I would suggest trying to repair the board first before buying a new one (unless you get a great deal on a replacement one). Its possible it was something simple like a fuse or busted capacitors.

Open up the TV and take out the power board and check it for any busted capacitors. Also check the fuse(s) with a multimeter. Try replacing everything with a soldering iron (shouldn't cost more than $10 for a fuse and capacitors). Try and see if it makes a difference. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT and SAFE with that type of work.

I have a 2005 73" dlp . Your light engine is going bad ! soon you will have a pyschadilic light show then total failure. I've replaced 3, Mitsu paid for all of them. But its getting very old.....I'm about to replace a fourth as soon as i can get it scheduled. Don't wait too long to order it . it can take up to 3months to get it.

found out that signals from both remotes were on same waveband
moved dvd player tp differnet tv in diferent room and bought new dvd player to couple with LG flat screen

Who knows? You did not tell us what make and model it is.

It needs repaired. I can think of many different possibilities causing the problem: 1. Shorted video luminance driver transistor. Should be under $200 total repair if you take set in. 2. Shorted green kine bias transistor. $200 3. Failed jungle ic. $250 4. Shorted green gun in the picture tube. More than you paid for tv set... Rca picture tubes commonly run 25% more than the tv set did new!!!!!!!
