Did you let the self clean complete its cycle or did you interrupt it so it couldn't complete it?

If you can get it back into the self clean cycle, then let it complete a full cycle before shutting it off.

How do i operate the self cleaning function

Hello - Before using the self-cleaning cycle of the appliance, remove the broiler pan and any utensils stored in the appliance. Also remove any excess spillovers in the oven cavity. Allow the oven to cool before cleaning. During the self-cleaning cycle, the outside of the wall oven can become very hot to the touch.

Typically to set the controls for a self-clean the first step is to confirm that the clock shows the correct time of the day. Press CLEAN. "---" appears in the display. Press the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW once. "3:00" appears in the display for a 3 hour cycle. To change to a 2 hour cycle press DOWN ARROW"2:00" appears in the display. As soon as the controls are set, the motor drive lock will begin to close automatically and the "LOCK" indicator light will flash. DO NOT open the oven door while the light is flashing (it takes about 15 seconds for the over door to lock). "CLn" will appear in the display during the Self-Clean cycle and the "LOCK" light will glow until the Self-Cleaning cycle is complete or cancelled and the oven temperature has cooled.

When the Self-Clean cycle has completed, the time of the day or "End" will appear in the display window and the "Clean" and "LOCK" light will continue to glow. Once the over has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be opened. If "End" is the display and the Clean indicator light remains ON, press CLEAR/OFF. The time of the day will appear in the display.

If it becomes necessary to stop or interrupt a Self-Cleaning cycle, press CLEAR/OFF. Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be opened. Restart the Self-Clean cycle once all conditions have been corrected.

We have a frigidaire fef354cjsa oven that has a self cleaning option. We started the self clean and it locked the door. 2 days later we cannot open the door still. The lock light is blinking. We have tried...

The best way to do is to pull the oven out if is built in and go through the top. If its free standing use a clothes hanger and make a hook and pull the latch to where youcan open the door. Your going to have to replace the lock motor assembly. Bit of advice though, slef clean is the worst invention ever and if you use it you will have more problems.

Door lock light blinking ,oven wont work on a older gibson self cleaning oven.

It sounds to me that the door lock switch itself is stuck in the "on" position. If you don't use the self-cleaning feature, I would suggest simply disconnecting the switch. If you DO use the self-cleaning feature, you may want to consider replacing the switch or inspect it to make sure there isn't debris, grease, etc., stuck in it, making it stuck on all the time.

I hope this helps! :) Please let me know if you need any further assistance in this matter and I'll be more than happy to help!

This is a Door lock malfunction. you will need to replace the door lock mechanism. it is faulty.

Test the door lock mech for its operational value to be sure.if the door mech test is good, replace the control(ERC/Clock)

Missing my manual

I suggest you read this link before you use the self clean cycle. http://www.fixya.com/support/t241114-oven_will_not_heat#SameProblemContinued
I used mine for the first time two days ago on model KEBC147 and it will not heat now.
You might not want to try self-clean unless you have time to call for repair afterwards before
using your oven again.

Very disappointed in KitchenAid in Texas ...

Self cleaning oven instructions

Self cleans generally do a good ****on small messes in 2 -2.5 hours. Larger messes take 3. Leaving the racks in is okay...but they will likely lose their shiny appearance. Manuals are on the GE website.
