Re: Internal Battery is dead
If your StreetPilot c3xx is showing low battery, the unit is no longer
receiving external power. Please proceed with the following steps:
Check the fuse in the vehicle power cable.
Check the connections between the unit and the vehicle.
Make sure the vehicle is supplying power to the cigarette lighter
(check the fuse for the cigarette lighter, turn on vehicle's ignition,
try using another accessory in the cigarette lighter).
Try remounting the unit into the cradle.
Also try remounting the unit into the cradle:
Place the front bottom part of the screen into the cradle.
Roll the unit backwards until it snaps into place.
Place your thumb on the bottom of the mount below the screen of the unit.
Place the rest of your fingers on the top of the unit.
Squeeze the unit and the cradle together to make sure it is seated correctly.
If your c3xx is still not receiving external power in the vehicle,
please connect the unit to a computer with the supplied USB cable to
verify that the unit will still charge. If the unit is able to charge
on the computer, the vehicle mount may need to be replaced. If the
unit will not charge on the computer, the unit may need to be
repaired. Please contact Garmin Product Support for repair or

Hello. This means for some reason your alternator is not functioning properly. The engine will start and run until your battery goes dead. If you have a voltmeter display on your dashboard the needle will be below 12 to confirm that the alternator is not functioning properly. You need to have this checked out before your battery goes dead so you don't end up stranded on the road. I hope this helps, good luck.
The screen display works when the magnet on the wheel and the sensor on the fork leg are on the same side and the the screen/ head unit is fully engaged on the mount. The magnet and sensor of the leg cannot be more than 1.5mm apart from each other..... if that doesn't fix it then your computer is just dead and it's time to get a new one!
