Hello gig..... the stand is definitely removable. on the back of the tv look for holes that contain phillips head screws. usually there are between 2 and 4 screws deep in those holes. Use a #2 phillips head screw driver and insert it into one of the holes. turn the screw driver counter clockwise and the screw will come out. Joe

Need base for Insignia TV

It will either slide out from the front/back or to the side..Some actually bolt on from the bottom using screws/bolts.And then again some are not meant to be taken off.Make sure it is a wall mountable tv.Then try to take the stand off as directed.

Removing the stand on Insignia LCD 26F TV

My insignia 26 inch dvd combo TV stand can be removed by removing the access cover to your input connection. There are eleven black phillip-head screws. The three bottom screws also hold the plastic base cover in place. Remove all eleven screws and pull the stand out from below. The four philip-head screws on the back center of the TV is for the location of the wall bracket mount. Good luck.

Tv stand screws

Check the kitchen drawer next to the fridge for the screws !!

When you get new screws, use lengths 1/2".. any longer and you might hit something inside.

Don't know why this is posted under IS-LCDTV26.. I would pull a screw from my 26" and measure it, but it's most likely different than your 42"

Can't get base off 26" Insinia 720p

On the back of the set you will see 8 screws just above the stand; remove the screws
and gently slide the stand out. Wiggle it alittle and the stand will come out.
Remove the metal tab you just pulled out by removing the screws at the bottom of the tab (attached to the pivit joint) place the tab back in the bottom of the set( same place you removed it from) and re-install the screws ( don't over tighten them). You are done.

I had the same trouble with this set and the tech support was of no help. Good Luck.

TOSHIBA TELEVISION STAND

Can you post a pic of the stand showing its fasteners?
Usually they are just screwed on. (But of course manufacturers have a thing about always trying to hide the screws)

Toshiba 26HLV66

you will need to remove the jack pack cover on the back of the unit (plastic cover), it should pop off, then remove the screws holding the stand on (should be 5 if memory serves).. after that the stand should slide away from the tv.

make sure your wall bracket kit can support the weight and that the screws you embed in the wall are using hercules hooks, anchor bolts, or something similar... last thing you want is a dead tv and ripped up drywall.

hope this helps,
trin
