Vikram, first of all take no more pictures with the memory card. You'll need to use recovery software to recover your photos. There are very many freeware options for your to choose (here's a short listing with reviews). You'll need to use your computer's card reader with this software. Now AFTER you've recovered your photo's, you'll need to initialize (format) the card in your camera (DON'T use your computer to initialize the card). This will erase the card, but it will also help prevent this instance from reoccurring. Look in your camera's menus for the format option.

I reformat my sd card in the computer to remove all the photos the when im using it in my sony cybershot camera it appears "reinsert memory card" how can i fix the it to use it again in the camera

When you need to delete the photos from the SD memory card, do not use your computer to do it. Use your camera to format the SD memory card.
To fix this problem, insert the SD memory card in your camera then go to the camera's Menu and format the SD memory card.

I took a couple of photos on my Sony DSC-S950 and my memory card was not intalled properly. The photos were saved to the internal memory. How can I transfer them to the memory card?

Hi Monica,

If you want to transfer(copy) the photos from the internal memory to your memory card, follow the instruction below.

You can also view the procedure by downloading the User's Manual at www.retrevo.com. When you are on the link, click "Download the Document", enter your email add and confirmation number, then click "Download Now" to automatically begin the download. It is free and safe website, I used it personally.
Turn to page 61.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

From the menu, select Settings (toolbox icon) then Memory Card Tool (memory stick icon) then "Format".

Format is on page 108 of the Cybershot handbook. If you need a copy, you can download one at

How to recover pictures from sony cybershot

First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.

Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.
Download this photo recovery software called asoftech photo recovery
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
Install and open the photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

Model Sony Cybershot DSC-HX5...I need to have a time stamp on my pictures and was wondering if you can help me turn it on. Thank You

Hi,

The new models do not have the feature of superimposing directly as many customers did not want this feature because accidentally they had this option On and the Date and Time stamp got printed on the photos even they didn't want it.
However, the new cameras that are equipped with the EXIF technology gives you an option to superimpose the date and time later by using compatible third party EXIF software.
You can also connect the camera to a Pictbridge compatible Printer to print the images with Date and Time.
By using the supplied PMB Software, you can print or save images with date when saving it into the Computer. Click on the below links for further information on inserting the dates using PMB:
Inserting the date in a photo.
Changing the date and time in a batch.
The customers can use the MS Paint to insert the Date & Time.

Thanks for using FixYa.
