Make sure you have the in and output cable to the correct side. If backward it would act as yours does. If they are correct, time for servicing the unit.

After my FBQ 2496 began to go "wild", it finally went blank with a ticking sound. I tried pressing and holding the "Reset" and "Bypass" buttons, simultaneously during power on. It worked after 3 or 4 tries.
If the unit is in bypass mode, the display will indicate "BYPASS" That would bypass the RP355. You might try that to see if the problem is with the 355.
You might also have issue with the output being essentially low Z out if it is plugged into a High Z input.
Are you using the unbalanced 1/4 inch guitar jacks or the XLR? Is the XLR wired correctly? If not it may be grounding out the input.
If your eurozone power pack is the correct polarity on the coaxial power plug, the unit should light up. If it is not even doing that- check the polarity as it may be reversed from what you need. As long as the the output voltage and current is close to what the American power supply output current is- molded into the power pack, there should be no issue there if polarity of coaxial plug is correct. It should behave and respond to the various setting displyed on the RP unit.
Is it plugged into a computer? Did the computer recognize the driver? Is there a software conflict? If you have a windows machine, you can open the device manager and see if there is a yellow X or yellow question mark on the device- if so the driver either did not install, or there is a software conflict. you may need to to enable the audio for that input in "Audio Properties" in the control panel of the PC. If a mac- make sure it is selected under "Chooser".
In short- you should be able to plug your guitar into the unbalanced input of the RP, and then you can run a cable from the RP unbalanced output to the guitar amp. There are 5 different lengths of 1/4 inch jack in use- make sure yours are the right length for the amp, and the RP.
in bypass mode, the guitar should be heard, you can put the unit in bypass mode by pressing the up and down keys at the same time. Also make sure the amp is not in standby or muted either. These things can happen. It should work, it shoudl light up, it should give you visual indication something is or should be happening.
First thing to ty is to try it using two 9 volt batteries as a test to see if lights work.
I ASSUME that you are NOT trying to use the pedal in the external effects loop (send and return) as the levels are not compatible. The pedal must be between the guitar and the inout of the amp.
Beyond this I would open the unit and look for something loose or broken where the blue LED is located.
You MAY have a broken input jack. If you can hear changes from the overdrive gain control, that control is just one stage away from the input jack. Also there is a capacitor C60 that is for RF bypassing and if that shorts that will kill the audio. Yes, inout jacks get destroyed by tripping over guitar cables... that is why you run the cord through the amp handle before plugging it in. Of course verify your guitar and cable is good using another amp.
Common cause is weak battery (the LED is NOT an indication the battery is good as it will still light long after the battery is too weak). The second common problem is the input and output cables are backwards. The unit will pass audio with them backward, but NOT when you activate.
If you are using battery, replace it. If you are not using battery, check your pqwer adapter. Internally, the pwer connectors and soldering around it are chronic problem,
Do you happen to have another speaker that you could hook up to speaker output? This would bypass the amps internal speaker and lf you get sound from that setup, it would mean either a jack failure or possible internal speaker problems. Please let me know.
The bypass switch in the headphone jack is likely broken. NEVER unplug the headphones while the amp is on.
There are certain small amps that have a possibilty of popping the power amp due to a feedback arrangement. Likewise, never use the headphone jack for ANYTHING other than headphones.
Well its been my exp. that when one thing starts to go south then the rest follows . You might try cleaning the jacks. If all your cables work your power is in place, then you have done all the checks you can. Dont throw it on the floor, a tec may be able to fix it cheeper, may be not. but eather way KEEP IT PARTS ARE PARTS . So play unpluged , but keep playing DFD
