There is a recall for certain cameras. CCD sensor goes out, and it sounds like that might be your issue. see website, call customer support. good luck.

Has the camera been exposed to heat? If left in a hot car, the display gets cooked. Luckily mine was still in warranty and Canon gave me a new one. I really like it.

Black lines on captured photo

Hi there:
The only time I have seen horizontal lines in the pictures, it was a prelude to the CCD sensor failing. Sounds like a CCD sensor problem. If the CCD sensor is causing the problem, it will get worse soon.Usually the next thing to happen is that the colors will shift toward pink.
I suggest you phone Canon support and tell them the problem and that you suspect the CCD.Ask for a repair quote for a CCD replacement. If the product is under warranty.

Hope helps.

I bought an Olympus FE-310 two years ago. First year it worked well but after the second year the images that I captured were not as good as before. Recently the pictures that I captured becoming worst....

The display being hazy or blurred can be due to failure of the LCD or the CCD which is the optical sensor of the camera. So to confirm check the older picture to be seen on the display. Confirm this by checking the card on your PC. If the pictures are seen to be good, then the LCD can be faulty, fault on the linking cable or the control board.

However if the older images are seen well then the LCD is working correctly and the fault can be failure of the CCD- charge coupled device in the camera. If you have accidently exposed the camera directly to high intensity light / sunlight, then it is possible that it is damaged. Remove the battery and keep the camera aside to reset and try as a last resort. Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.

The pictures have horizontal lines

This is electronic shutter problem that is the reason you get blinder effect/ noise on picture. Electronic shutter is located in lens mechanism and lens assembly will be replaced to solve the issue. Nearest Samsung service center or local camera repair shop will help you to replace lens assembly.
Thanks.

When turning on the camera to take a picture, many times there are horizontal lines in the view finder. Taking a picture captures these lines, not the image

The imagery board need to be replaced, The camera has been dropped. I had the same problem with mine. Send it back to Fuji they will repart it but they will charge labor.

My sony cybershot camera got wet. After capturing the screen displays fine horizontal lines over the picture. Does it need repair?

Hi,

Sounds like it is not terminal, perhaps some damp has got in where it shouldn't be. I would place the camera in a warm environment (say an airing cupboard) for a few days and see if this clears the problem. I'm assuming that the pictures taken are ok once downloaded, and it is only the LCD screen on the camera that is a problem.

... please don't put the camera in an oven!! A warm place with low humidity is best.

: ))

Cheers,
Ripface.

This is a firmware proble.
If the camera is less than a year old it will be replaced
if more than a year a refurbished one may be offered as a discount.
Check out customer support at Fuji site.

Lines across the LCD screen

Two things can cause lines across the LCD either horizontal or vertically. The first (and most likely) is a small crack in the display wafer. LCD stands for Liquid Cristal Display. They are very fragile and can be easily damaged if dropped. I broke one in my pants pocket.

The second would be if a pin on the ribbon cable (to the LDC wafer) was not making good contact. If you disassemble the camera it is possible to clean the contacts using contact cleaner (or alcohol). Only attempt this is you are willing to replace the camera if you don’t put it back together properly.
