I didn't find a driver, but it DID find the original USB cord that came with my camera & transferred them without a problem! I don't know if the cylindrical "core filter" that is on my cord has anything to do with it, but if all else fails you can purchase the cord & filter at the JVC website cheaper than purchasing the software CD (which probably still wouldn't help because it's probably your cord)
Here's a link to the JVC Store:

You can download the manual from the manufacturer's web site at

You might want to consider NOT using a driver. The best way to download videos and pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy videos and pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any video/photo cataloging program, such as Windows Movie Maker and Windows Photo Gallery.
I have the same problem & I don't have a SD card to transfer my videos to. I shouldn't have to transfer it to an SD card anyway since this is a HDD camera. I NEED a driver because Vista won't let me do anything with out it!
In addition to my previous comment: I found an SD card to transfer my videos to, but come to find out this camera doesn't support transferring videos to an SD card! It will only transfer still pictures. It DOES support recording to the SD card though, but my 2GB card will only record 50 minutes on the 3rd setting (1 being best quality, 4 being worst) Therefore, if anyone can help US find the driver for FREE, that would be great! I would like my home videos off of my camera. I have found where you can purchase it from JVC, which is reciculous!

You can download the manuals at http://books.jvc.com/booklist.asp?Model=...
Software, unfortunately, is another matter.
