Iphone doesnt detect in Itunes and Usb wall charger doesnt work.

I have an Unlocked Iphone, but for some reason I can't connect to Itunes. It just doesn't detect when i put phone on dock? I tried on many diffrent computer but still. The usb cord, dock is in working condition. Also for some reason the usb charger that came with the phone doesnt work. I tried that charger on a Ipod and it working. I had to get a wall charger that is directly connected from outlet to phone and it works. Anyone who knows how to solve the problems please let me know

This iphone was purchased and imported from the US, My Apple iphone 8GB was working perfectly and it accepted my vodafone sim card iv been using the iphone for 7 months now....

I suppose its UNLOCKED though as i pluged in the USB cable from the iphone to my computer to appear in itunes it worked and i was able to transfer music and pictures from the computer to the iphone......

I dont know if its a 3G cause its imported but i can make calls and receive msgs, It works or was working perfectly

2 Days ago i updated my iphone through itunes and then i restored my iphone and after the messege notifying me that the iphone has sucessfully reseted to factory settings and that i have to wait till my iphone resets, i did wait till the iphone restarted and then a messege appeared on itunes saying that the sim card in the iphone is not supported, only supported sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate the iphone.......

I dont understand what happened and why the itunes would ruin my iphone???

Now the only thing that appears non the Iphone is a picture of a USB connecting to itunes??????????

I cant make calls either except for emergency calls only......

There is a info logo on the screen at the moment and when i touch the info logo a IMEI: number appears and a ICCID: number underneath it.

Id truley appreciate anyone that can help me in this iphone disarster

    How did you get your iphone open? I have the same problem, and there's only a picture of usb cable and itunes on the screen and I can only make emergence calls. Can anyone help me what to do to open it again?

    phone was working last night when it was plugged into a/c charger. thgis morning the screen will not activate although it makes a sound when connected to charger

It sounds like the unlocking screwed up part of the software, if you are using the newest version, there is a problem when unlocking the phone. If you down grade to the prior software version, it may fix the problem, it's difficult to know what people have done to the phones due to the many different methods of unlocking jailbreaking etc, if it were mine I would try to do re install of the prior firmware, if that doesen't work, you may be able to just get a new sim card from your provider. That is more than likely what got messed up

Based on your message it looks like Itunes reupdated the firmware of your Iphone back to the original factory firmware hence it is back to the Locked firmware. When you hit restore in Itunes it will check the Apple website for the correct firmware and load it. You will have to have the phone unlocked again. I would suggest you go to a cellphone repair center and have them unlock the phone again.

You need to open the iphone and reconnect the charger port, its on a flex connector and they pop out for some reason.you just need to reconnect it and you should be able to see the iphone within itunes again.

Sounds like you're at the activation screen, so all you should have to do is insert an activated ATT simcard and connect the phone to iTunes on a computer that is connected to the internet. If you really can't connect to iTunes, there may be a hardware issue. There is an iPhone Repair Guide that shows how to open an iphone.Once it is open it's as easy to replace parts which are available on Ebay.

For you update your iphone through itune you had change the phones ability to use any sim card the iphone but this can be fixed you must tell me which firware you are on

I think this phone would need a firmware re-installation. the updating and restoration of the phone may have caused some accidental deletion of file in phone software.

have you tried to reinstall itunes on your pc? it will be the iphone driver that is missing from your pc if you make a bacup of your itunes files in the itunes folder and then re install the most recent itunes from apple this will re install the driver needed to find the phone through itunes.

Your iPhone is not factory unlocked. This means if you purchased it from the USA you need a deactivated ATT SIM card to get it past the activation or use a program called QuickPWN to Jailbreak + Activate your iPhone

Is your iPhone 4 factory unlocked or jailbroken then unlocked?
Either way, please read the following:
  • Make sure that the USB cable is in good condition
  • Try connecting in different USB ports of your system
  • Reinstall iTunes to the latest version http://apple.com/itunes
  • Try connecting your phone in some other computer

The above solutions should work because I myself have faced this problem and these have worked for me. If it still doesn't work, the please let me know.

open iTunes > Help > Check for updates

install any updates, restart the computer and try again.

Post again if this doesnt work

(BTW if you dont already have iTunes, you need it for the iPhone to work http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/)
