Try 'right clicking' on the desktop area and select screen resolution, from here you are able to change the size of your display to match the screen (don't worry if you select one that is incorrect and can't click on it, it will automatically revert to the setting before).
Greetings, Welcome to Fixya! So you need to adjust your Desktop Screen Resolution ey!!! It's a good thing you visited as today we are going to discuss just that. We will be using our monitor to it's full potential, which will ensure we see the best picture our monitor can provide.
Follow the steps below:
1.)Right click on your desktop screen. 2.)A rectangular menu box appears. 3.)Select Properties, found right at the bottom of the menu box. 4.)Select the Settings Tab, found on the top right hand side of the window. 5.)On the bottom left hand side you will notice a slider bar under the heading Screen Resolution. 6.)Move this slider to the left to decrease the Screen resolution, less detailed, move the slider to the right to increase the Screen Resolution, more detailed. 7.)Ensure that the colour quality is set to highest, to give a more detailed and clearer picture!
Below: The window, see the slider bar on the bottom left and the colour quality on the right!
That should do the trick! Now you will enjoy all the detailed, crisp, goodness that your monitor has to offer.
If your desktop is smaller than the dimensions of your monitor then follow the following steps to get a full screen:
Setting the resolution:
1) Right click on an open spot on your desktop and select Properties at the bottom of the popup menu.
2) This will then open up the Display Properties window as shown below.
3) Click on the Settings tab (it's to the top right of the Display Properties window as shown in the image below.
4) At the bottom left of the settings tab there is a Screen resolution heading with a slider bar beneath it. 5) Slide this bar to the left or right until you find the resolution you like. 6) The click Apply when you have found the right resolution.
Sliding the bar to the left = lower resolution, larger desktop icons and less quality. Sliding the bar to the right = higher resolution, smaller desktop icons and better quality. NB: If you are using a CRT (older screen) the max resolution will be around 1280x1024. Newer LCD screen (flat and thin monitors) can go way up to 1920x1080 and beyond if HD is supported.
NOTE: If when doing the screen resolution changes your screen goes blank after you click Apply then immediately hold down the Enter key to restore it back to your previous settings
If this doesn't work then it just maybe the case that you need to set the auto screen fit function on the monitor itself using the buttons provided on the monitor.
This tip is useful when you plug in a monitor and the screen displays the No Signal or Signal out of Range massages. Simply change the resolution to something the monitor can handle and there you go.
You can also check out my video tutorial if you want to:
Right click on the desktop and go to personalize. Down in the bottom left corner click Display. Choose smaller 100%. If this is already checked, Right click on the desktop and click screen resolution. Pick a higher resolution and click apply. The higher the number the smaller everything will get, For Example. 1280x 720 is much smaller than 800 x 600
1) Right click on your desktop.
2) Select Properties at the bottom of the popup menu. This will open the Display Properties window.
3) Click on the Settings tab (it's to the top right)
4) At the bottom left there is a Screen resolution heading with a slider bar beneath it.
5) Slide this bar to the left and right until you find the resolution you like.
Sliding the bar to the left = lower resolution, larger desktop icons and less quality.
Sliding the bar to the right = higher resolution, smaller desktop icons and better quality.
If your screen goes blank after you click Apply then immediately hold down the Enter key.
If this doesn't work then it just maybe the case that you need to set the auto screen fit function on the monitor itself using the buttons provided on the monitor.

Hi:
One thing you can try is to right click your mouse, and go to properties, and lower your screen resolution settings. The higher the settings, the better quality picture, but icons and writing will get smaller and smaller. You just need to set it to something that is good for you! After you change it, you have about 30 seconds to accept your change, or it will go back the way it was.
1. There is a monitor mode to display correctly when connected to a larger monitor, look at the top line of keys on your keyboard for a key with 2 monitors on it. You usually need to press the FN (Function key, bottom left) hold it down then press the monitor at the top
3. Try starting Internet Explorer and click Tools (At the top) --> Windows Update
See if any updated Video Drivers are available
If you cannot see tools at the top in the menu bar pres the <alt> key once
Hold your Ctrl button down, then use your mouse scroll button to enlarge or make smaller the print on your Internet Explorer and Email pages.
You can also change the resolution on your desktop to make everything larger :
First right-click on the desktop and then left click on Properties from the menu that appears.
The display properties dialogue box will appear as shown in fig 1.1 below, click on the settings tab at the top right of the box.
The areas worth noting are:
Screen Resolution This slide bar is what you use to change the resolution, the options you have will depend on your graphics card and monitor, but the standard options are 800x600, 1024x768 and 1152x864.
When set to 800x600, means the display will be 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.
Color Quality This pull down box will contain the current colour options available, again this will depend on your grahics card and monitor, for best results select the highest option available.
i don't get the meaning of your description, but you can try to adjust the resolution of the screen by click the space of the desktop, choose "attribute", then choose "setting",change the "screnn resolution" to 1024x768 pixel.if it does not work, reinstall the windows opration system.
