Question about Maytag Neptune MAH6500A Front Load Washer

Spin cycle makes jet airplane takeoff noise. assume main bearing on spining tub is out. What part replaces this bearing? Diagrams do not mention bearing!

Bearings do exist but need a special puller to remove. If techs i n your area have it part numbers are 22002934 , 22003441 also needed is spacer 22002935 and seal kit 12002022 or else you need to order the whole outer basket

If it's a roaring noise, the tub bearing is probably wearing out. Spin the tub a little with your hand, if you hear a little of the roar, that's it.

If you are getting a noise like a jet taking off during the spin cycle you will need to replace the tub bearing. The bearing only comes with the tub assembly kit. It also includes the seals. Here is the tub kit to order.

yes you can buy the bearings and lip seal online,but you need to dismantle the whole unit and split the tub to change the bearings,its a lot of work,if your mechanically inclined it shouldn't be a problem,then when dismantled drive out bearings from front and back and make sure new bearings are set in place properly with no gaps in either edge,replace lip seal and reassemble unit and test run

The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. Front load machine will not spin all the water out of the cloths and it is making a noise during the spining cycle.

I have a maytag neptune washer model# mah300aww.
Your tub seal leaked water into the tub bearings causing them to fail. Maytag only offers the bearings as part of the outer tub assembly and the repair can be pricey. A little research may turn up a service company in your area that has the tool to replace only the tub bearing. The repair becomes more affordable that way.

WASHER SOUNDS LIKE AN AIRPLANE TAKING OFF DURING SPINE CYCLE
Most likely a failed "spinner" assy. The roaring that you hear is the bearing telling you it's had enough and has gone on strike.

MAJOR job! If it's over 5 years old, I recommend calling a professional and get quotes. Then decide what you want to do.

If it's less than 5 years old, it should be under warranty. Contact Sears. Tell them you have a failed spinner and tub bearing assy. and have them do the repair.

*Just a quick note. You should use only HE detergent in these machines.

I have a maytag neptune super stack model: ML2000 when it spin drys the clothes it sounds like an jet airplane ready for take off.
it sounds like the main bearing in the back of the drum (under the big pulley). make sure you replace it and the water seal soon before the starts to damage the plastic tub.

this is my experience repairing the maytag washer Atlantis mav series 9750 aww, I had to replace the spin bearing since it was making a jet engine noise when it was spinning out the water. its not an easy job for my 1st time taking this machine apart, you literally take it all apart to get to this bearing, but now I can show how to do it with pictures making it easier for you to do it. even if you have to replace something other than the spin bearing, this how to tutorial will show you how to get to most of the parts in this machine
