Hi
I thought you were going to give me an answer to my question. I am sadly disappointed after reading your 'answer' that I have been eagerly waiting on all day.

What does it mean if my zen is flashing a red light when i try to power it on, but the computer will not recognize it an it will not come on

It probably means that your zen doesn't have enough power. You need to recharge it. Try recharging it for few minutes or so and see it it changes anything.

hope this helps.

CREATIVE ZEN WENT DEAD AND WONT RECHARGE AT ALL

Tried the tiny reset button? I was pissed till I found that and I re-initialized the whole thing. Now everything works great. (Might have to rdownload firmware "ZENMozaic_PCFW_122_1_06_01.exe' from Creative site but worked great for me.)

Back up all and re-install.

Zen doesnt turn on, problem

I'm no better than a normal dude with this technological stuff, but i'll try to help anyways :) So, if you haven't solved the problem yet i think it could be that it (the Zen, mp3 player) has to recharge FULLY in order to be functional. So that's the 6 hours. It says on the Quickstart paper that the display turns off to conserve power. So i was thinking that could be it. The Zen was/is in recharge mode when you tried to power it on.It only turns on, when you've succesfully charged the WHOLE battery thingy. This is only a thought and should not be trusted 100% :) Ok, i really hope that this helps 'cause nobody had written anything to solve this or similiar problems. Alright, catch ya later!

Creative zen 8gb wont switch on or recharge

I had the same problem. Tried recharging from both PC and mains recharger. Tried re-setting and re-charging. All I got was the blue charging light pulsing on and off. The ZEN would not charge. Eventually I tried a Software re-set. (Slide the on/off button to the On position and hold it there whilst hitting the re-set button). I then tried re-charging and everything was fine. (It did take about 10 - 15 mins recharing from the PC before the device did actually respond, but that is normal after it is fully discharged)

Cannot guarantee the above will work every time or for everyone, but it saved me returning it to Creative and an eight week wait.

Black Screen, Not turning on but charges?

If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."

Q. How to reset Zen v +
