Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Hotpoint wt740. When starting a wash cycle the machine tries to fill but shows the H20 code and the water goes straight out of the drain tube (it appears to have normal pressure and flow rate).

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Indesit (Hotpoint, Ariston) Error code H20
(Quote)'If the machine is not in the demo mode and this error is displayed it means there is no water being supplied to the machine.
To cancel press and hold start/cancel then press again to cancel the drain and the machine should now be reset and display 'ON' as usual.'(unquote)

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My aqualitis aqxxf149pi is displaying h20 error code, filling correctly at start of wash cycle but mid cycle starting to add excessive water before it goes on drain and spin resulting in flooding

H20 is a water warning. The machine THINKS it has no water coming in (Hence it continues to fill and fill because it can''t see the water). 99% of the time, this is a blocked rubber pipe that goes to the pressure sensor. Water in the drum fills the bottom of the rubber pipe and as the water rises, the air pressure in the pipe increases, which operates a bellows device in the pressure sensor. If the pipe is blocked, the pressure sensor won't operate and it will continue to try to fill until it times out. There COULD be a wire off the sensor or a wire that goes to the sensor loose on the main board, there could even be a failed component on the main board, but all of these scenarios are ar less likely than a blocked pressure sensor pipe. Take the lid off, pull the pipe off the bottom of the sensor, blow down it hard and this may well clear the blockage. Put the pipe back on the sensor and test. Come back if you need more advice

Hotpoint aqualtis aqxxf149hpi is showing a error h20

Check tube to water pressure switch. The wall of the rubber tube on my machine had worn through due to friction. Taped it up to make sure this was the problem. No H2O code and machine working!

Hi i have a hotpoint washin machine and it kepp showing H20 on the csreen can you please help th model number is WT740

H20 indicates a problem with water supply.
Check the inlet hose/s for restrriction or kinks, ensure water supply pressure is o/k, also check the filter screens in the inlet valves, you will have to turn the water off to do this.

Error code H20...My washing machine, a hotpoint wt740 is showing the warning light H20...does anybody know what this means? thanks

Hi there,

Well error H20 does indicate no fill.
Make sure that that there is an adequate supply pressure to washer, check that there are no kinks or restrictions in hose. To be certain if you have an adequate supply turn off water valve to washer, disconnect hose and hold the hose into the sink or a bucket, turn the water back on, and see what the pressure is like..
If ti is too low, then the valve will not operate properly.
If you think it is ok then it is quite likely a valve fault, also check the filter built into the valve inlet.
Please post comments if further you have the same problem or you need more help or information........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

I have a hotpoint top load that will not fill.It goes straight to wash cycle. And on the spin cycle it drains only;no spin

This is caused by a bad pressure switch. With it being bad, the machine thinks the tub is filled with water therefore it starts washing rather than filling first.
Please rate solution.

Your exit hose behind the machine has to go over a certain height before it goes into your wall standpipe or sink. The height is marfked behind your machine, approx 3 feet above ground level. The hose should put about 3 or 4 inches into the standpipe, & not fitted airtight. Post back later if the code stil comes up...........

Hotpoint aquarious hault code

fault can be due to more than one cause. take top off machine locate pressurestat - usually a round device with anything from 3 to 7 wires to it and a small diameter tube to it. check no split or crack in tube and that it is not blocked. the small diameter hose goes to an air chamber. often this air chamber gets clogged especially if you use liquid detergent. if clogged, clear it with hot water. pressurestat may also be faulty but these are a reliable device. to test, remove small dia tube and attach your own tube. with machine in fill mode, blow into tube and you should hear a click and water stops ps i live near truro
