There are three causes. Make sure your needle is all the way up in the needle clamp, and the flat side it on the back (if your bobbin is in the front of the needle).
If it is, then your timing is out of synch, and you will need to get a technician to fix it.
try changing the needle try rethreading the machine top and bobbin with a different thread try a different bobbin--and then make sure the bobbin is turned the right way. make sure the to thread has not come off the thread take up lever
If you have the black bobbin case you must make sure you use only a good mercerised thread, there should be enough gap between the edge of the bobbin case and the silver adjuster to allow the thread to pass through, if there is not then you must slacken off the two screws and move it over a fraction.
You need to do the first pickup by hand. Lower the threaded needle by using the hand wheel not the foot pedal, when it comes up, catch the needle thread carefully and pull up. It should bring the bobbin thread with it. Now you can start sewing. I hope.
When threading your needle make sure you pull enough thread through...a good 4 inches will do..hold the end of the thread and turn your hand wheel by hand until needle comes back up...you should have a loop around your upper thread ...pull this loop out towards you..you should now have two threads..cut threads till about 2 inches and make sure you position threads through the center of your sewing foot and towards the back of your machine. Good Luck
"Birdnesting" occurs when there is no tension on the needle thread to pull the bobbin thread. This is easily corrected by rethreading the machine, following the threading path carefully and making sure the thread is fully engaged in the tension mechanism.
Hi, I hope this helps. It's kind of hard without pictures, but I'll do my best: 1)With the spool of thread affixed in it's normal spot, take the thread and wind it through that weird hooky thing (like normal) at the 'back' of the machine. 2)Then bring the thread towards the front of the machine and around the metal 'button' on the top of the machine. Do not loop around this, merely guide the thread on on the side closest to you, towards the right hand side of the machine. 3)Thread your bobbin. 4)Put the bobbin on the metal arm and push to the right (gently). 5)Push the 'button' in the hand wheel in so one end of it will pop out (this will stop the needle from going up & down while you're winding the bobbin) 6)Start pressing the foot pedal slowly and things should start to work.
It is either inserted incorrectly or the bobbin case needs replacing. Check the bobbin case by running finger tip around the outside of case, if rough spot needs replace. There is a ltch that is spring loaded you must hold back with small bladed screwdriver while inserting case for proper placement
