Our proton 32 in flat screen has sound but no picture it is out of warranty

Proton LCD TV, Hi, most LCD's and Plasma's have a cold/ hot circuit and the board for video and audio are the same usually it's a main board but before going through all that check to be sure that it's not a setting or volume adjustment. older model proton TV's exchange the main board these usually go bad IU would search any auction sites for a similar model with a broken screen and take out the needed parts for this fix, otherwise your better of getting a more updated LCD TV good thing is that they are way cheaper now

If sound is coming and showing no display then its display problem that comes from card situated inside the LCD. So go to nearest LCD repair center and check out this.

OK use these Service and repair manuals above, these are the manuals us engineers use to troubleshoot and repair things like this.
If you feel that you cannot, or do not want to do a DIY. Please contact, Proton, head office, and ask for a referral to an authorised service center, then ask them for a "Quote" before proceeding with any repair.

If you need a board write the board number down. Try LCDparts.net and see if you can match board with what they have.

Check back light inverter.

you really cant, if it is still under warranty and they will cover it (make sure first by calling) then send it in. otherwise you will have to just deal with it, sorry.

The panel may have been damaged but remove the back from the unit and reset all connectors.

make sure cables connected correctly and source switched to proper input.

This TV set is still under the warranty and it seems proton has no local service available to you. I know its to late to tell you this but anytime you purchase a set, ask first and see if there is a service local to you. Ok enough of that noise.. I would go back to the store where it was purchaced and ask them if they know of any local shops that handle the warranty repairs.. If you want to pay for the repair, and that will most likly be alot for a flat panel set, You will have to call back proton and ask about the shipping cost and whos responsible for that.

Have you asked proton about the bulb or inverter or power supply. Proton is going to be the only place to get them. Soory to have to tell you but proton doesnt have good customer service.
