Sure they will but according to MK batteries good AGM atteries will perform just as well and for less cost. And thats probably why they told you that. They don't want to incur the higher cost because Medicare will only pay so much for the replacement batteries. Hope this helps you

I have a Pronto M51 batteries are good and unit operates IN a very short time the unit will slow down to almost stop and a little growling Ideas? maybe motors?

I am wondering how you know the batteries are good?

Many problems are battery related and it is important never to assume anything about battery condition before moving on to further checks.

It is important to check the terminal voltage under load before declaring a battery is good - even the ancient and relatively crude technology of lead acid batteries can fool even modern chargers and the sealed gel-type batteries have a reputation of suddenly failing without warning.
Operate the chair until it almost stops and check the voltage while keeping the load on.

While it is possible one motor might give trouble it is most unlikely two will give the same trouble at the same time. Controllers do give trouble sometimes but usually they either work or don't work...

VETERANS HOME JUST GAVE ME A USED QUANTUM WHEELCHAIR AND PRIDE MOBILITY CHARGER. HAS AGM BATTERIES. CHARGER MODEL EA11488 SAY LEAD ACID BATTERIES ONLY ????

AGM batteries( absorbant glass mat ) batteries have a different charge rate to ordinary lead acid batteries
it is all abiut the charging rate or charging volts so the charger you have may not be suitable for the AGM batteries in the chair
the difference in the lead acid battery and the AGM battery is the construction
Lead acid batteries will spill acid if tipped over where as a AGM the acid is absorbed in the glass mat or is an acid gel
to get a read of what it is all about go www.batteryuniversity.com and you will see what I am refering to
next best thing is to ring your local battery shop and ask then what charger you should be using for AGM batteries and if a normal lead acid battery is suitable for the job

Battery Voltage is usually always 12, Amperage can vary slightly with no major problems. 35 Amp is standard and will not present any problems.

Unit charges shows full and by mid day in a nursing home battery lights show only 2 red lights. do i need to replace batteries. the chair is a jet3 it was bought in 2003 and not used for about 2...

You definitely need new batteries. There are 2 size U-1 batteries in the chair that will last between 1.5 and 2 years. Get the deep cycle sealed gel lead acid batteries, preferably AGM. Hope this helps.

I need to replace my bateries. What is the difference between the MK AGM 12 volt brand and the UB AGM 12 volt?

The Mk battery is a maintenance free battery, they are sealed to keep from spilling water or leaking acid. And let me tell you right now if the chair is used inside that's the battery you want. Most major wheelchair/scooter manufactures have went away form the maintaince battery's because of accidents like acid spills .I would recommend the gel sealed maintaince free battery ,last long ,little more money ,but its worth it .

Hope I was of some help good luck to ya.

Chair was working just fine and now it won't move .....says battery is dead but was charged fully less than 48 hrs ago and has hardly been used in that time!

These chairs use Lead Acid Gel Cells and they do go bad after a while It is not unusual for them to be fully charged and loose the charge in just a few hours as the internal resistance of the batteries are compromised by warped plates due to heat generated by the charger. It also could mean that the connections have become corroded and just need to be cleaned. Check that first.

Wheelchair battery Question

Wet batteries will require you to add distilled water about once every two months. Wet batteries can be damaged permanently if the water level falls below the level of the battery plates. Adding water is quite difficult for the wheelchair user because wet batteries are heavy and difficult to reach, so it usually requires the help of a second person.

Gel batteries don't require water, so they eliminate corrosion. The main disadvantage of gel batteries is that they usually cost more and have about 10 to 20% less capacity than wet batteries do.
