I canot connect to the internet but my laptop detect my router

Hello. 1_Check if the router connected to the internet by the LAN cable. 2_Check if the router connected properly to the internet by dial up your connection information. If all of these are correct that mean the mac address on the router don't match your laptop this is for the security of your WLAN network.

routers have a limited bandwidth.. but some routers need to register your laptop serial to be able to connect to the internet.. there is a permission to allow your laptop to use the wireless connection.. check your wireless connection setting, then choose your router name, then try to connect..

Is the laptop detecting any wireless networks in the area? if yes then it means that the wireless card is ok if not make sure that the wireless is turned on on your laptop.

I the laptop detects wireless networks in the are then we should check the settings on your system or something that could be interfering with the wireless connection on your system,
what are the error/s when trying to connect wirelessly?

Tis can be multiple things regarding wireless, if the error is windows was unable to conenct to wireless evice then try recreating the wireless network on your laptop in network and sharing center if you have win7 on the laptop, network conenctions if you have XP.

I the laptop connects to the router but does not get internet acces then better check you routers network key if it is correct in your laptops settings, also check your IP address if it is correct if you IP starts with 169... then have a bad IP address on your laptop, go to the command prompt type ipconfig /release, then press enter, then type ipconfig /renew then enter to renew your ip address, hoping that the IP address changes it should begin with 192...

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router
is there any computer connected to the router ?
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router.

first chk if the laptop can connect to the internet without the router. Connect to the modem and see if you can connect. Second hard wire to the router and check on the routers web interface if you can run the set up wizard or equivalent and make sure the router is getting an IP from your service provider.
Then connect to the internet.. that should work

Make sure the router is set to "gateway" mode and not "router" mode.

instead of connecting the cable from the modem to the Internet port on the router connect it to one of the ports numbered 1,2,3,4 and hopefully it should connect

also check the channel at which the laptop and the router are communicating

also check the ip range that the router is adjusting itself to

if ur laptop detect full signal from ur router, click on the signal and let ur laptop connect to the signal..coz even ur laptop detect the signal,it doesnt auto connect,so u hve to connect it manually..

Make sure that your wireless is set to access point only and not firewall mode.
