Don't use the CD. Download the latest drivers from the hp.com website above. It will ask you if you have the Windows 7 operating system. These are the latest drivers for your printer and should work just fine.

hey there,
pretty sure the software you have was for xp, and you'll need to download newer drivers from HP that work with vista. MANY products need newer drivers to work on vista-- youre not alone.

there are several sets of drivers that install when you do this (all part of the one printer driver). the drivers that print are different drivers from the ones that scan. what's happening is that it sounds like your driver is only partially installed, probably due to some incompatibility between the driver version and vista. you could also try windows update through vista, and it will check to see updated drivers for your specific printer....
