Jvc hd-56g786 hdmi black screen

I am only getting a black screen when trying to hook up the hdmi to my playstation 3 and/or cable box. I have tried to push the sleeper putting on my remote followed by display/video status at the same time and I am not getting any menus to pop up so I can try to reset this. Is there any alternatives? I have a Panaonic BluRay that gives me a green screen with the HDMI cable, and the BluRay works fine with RCA plugs
I don't have a manual so I haven't been able to troubleshoot much.

Check your HDMI audio settings. It may be trying to send a signal that is incorrect. How is the wiring setup? cable box to stereo, then to Tv?

The yellow/red/white cables are COMPOSITE cables. COMPONENT cables are RED/BLUE/GREEN. You can buy those at any electronics store. Your best bet, though, is to stick with HDMI if you can.

We have a 56 inch JVC HD-56G786 backlit projector TV and the screen just completely pixelated while watching cable. I turned it off and back on and now even it has a green screen with staticy vertical...

Some of these had problems where the micro for the Dlp gets confused, they have a jig to connect the set to a computer and download two updates on sd cards---it may or may not cure this but this is a shop repair.

My JVC HD-56G786 will not work with HDMI cable. when I connect the HDMI cable I get a green screen. Any ideas would be great.

I had the same problem with my JVC projection tv. It would flash green, then go to regular picture then back to green flashes. Not sure if this is the solution you were looking for, but I was able to get a good crisp picture using composite cables instead of the HDMI cable.
