I have had many of this machines in service with this error. If you still have waranty send it to Canon and they will fix this for free, you will have to pay only for the delivery.
If you don`t have waranty, call far a tech to replace the scanner CCD sensor.

i think u r replace the glass of the machine u will replace in to original glass or replaced the ccd (charge cupple divise) (lens) or see tha exposer lamp getting on when on the machine
